Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

On Tuesday, the Cornwall Colts defeated the Kanata Stallions 4-3 to lead their best-of-7 playoff series 3-1. Jacob Laliberté scored the OT GWG and added an assist. He was named #1 star. :) http://pointstreak.com/prostats/boxscore.html?gameid=1550357

Laliberté's line is now 4-4-5-9-0.
Total 66-67-75-142-26.

Sounds like just another day at the office for JL-it is getting so that we expect this every game.

Two points is below the season average. last year's too. :) This is why it would hsve made sense for him to go to the USHL this season. Hopefully such loyalty will also keep him in Troy for four years.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

It's too bad that there are no 30-second videos of the Cornwall-Kanata game online. It would have been intersting to see the final minute of regulation.

I'll gladly take 2 points per game at RPI for as many games as he stays. I don't see him leaving very early unles he suddenly grows about 3 inches or puts on 15-20 pounds rapidly.;)

Wasn't there an RPI-SLU game up in Canton that ended sort of like that in the past few years? Lots of extra man goals in the last minute or two?

One EA goal to tie the game by each team (obviously RPI had gotten a quick go-ahead goal in between; the box score does not show us having an EA goal, but Mathias was effectively on his way to the bench), and then Chase gets the GWG 9 seconds into OT. Final score RPI 7, SLU 6. That was in 2008-09, and I still regret not driving up for that game.

I was at the TU watching the River Rats & listening to the RPI game on my radio that night...people around me thought I was out of my mind the way I was convulsing & jumping while that last minute & OT played out. :)

On Tuesday, the Stouffville Spirit lost to the Newmarket Hurricanes 5-1. Their best-of-7 playoff series is tied 3-3. Matt Neal had an assist and a butt-ending double minor penalty. http://ojhlsite.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=1547847

Neal's line is now 12-8-13-21-14.
Total 62-48-73-124-30.

Ralph, your numbers for Neal are off. I believe (based on his regular season "symmetry") that his total points are 121 rather than 124 (and his total penalty minutes should end in 4, not 0, I believe).

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

Interesting, while talking to a fairly knowledgeable guy in Union over the weekend, he said Laliberte at 21 this fall is old and how good is he because of where he is now(at his age I guess). I was assuming him to be a superstud ! I was very surprised at his assumption.

If he means that as a superstud he would be a prolific scorer, he is probably right. He is certainly not a superstud in stature.
I look forward to seeing him in Cherry and White.

Educate me-I am not familiar with the average age of the recruits that come into the Union program. Whatever they are, they sure have raised the standards over there in Schenectady.

He also had over 90 points the year he turned 17.

I'm not sure how much a Colgate fan would pay attention to Union recruits (unless of course he's a fan of either ECAC or college hockey in general), but Union's website probably has that info.
