The first reason being she consistently beats you at Pick the Standings? :D (And yes I know you're in the top 10 right now)

I honestly can say that I wish everyone of our posters find that just perfect someone to be with like I did. Just a perfect match-and she loves RPI hockey as well!!

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. II

You made the pizza in Connecticut?

Every Friday night when we're home is pizza night...we brought the leftovers with us on Saturday. The car was cold enough to refrigerate it. The two recipients had to eat something after the game...it was as good as any left over pizza.

I have put out the invite for the Q'pac and Yale games...anyone attending comes back to our house for homemade pizza and a crash pad...I kid you not...all are welcome (the more the Merriman-er):)

RB: I forget what the numbers are...will Seth need more forwards for next fall?

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. II

Dalton Izyk, whom we know RPI is interested in, is from Oswego, although he is playing for the Green Mountain Glades.
For folks who don't know or forgot, Izyk is a '94 - 6'1 190 ..and was coached by Appert and others in last summer's USA Hockey Strelow goalie camp.

Izyk had a good weekend for the Glades, who have been reeling of late. Izyk took two on the road from Rochester giving up one goal -- going 48 of 49 shots in the two wins. Assuming PS has their act together, his line now reads: 5-6-2 3.04 GAA, .909 sv%.

If Miller comes in next year we will have 5 forwards to replace the 5 leaving this season. If Bradley comes in with Curadi we will still need a D man if the plan is lose 8 seniors brings 8 freshman in.

We don't know if Malchuk will be back or not. He does have his red-shirt year that he could use. We also don't know if we need to replace D'Amigo, Pirri, and Watts. It wouldn't surprise me if we get two more forwards for next season.

Edit: My gut feeling is that Bradley won't show up next season, so we need one or two more dmen also.

My feeling also about the defense. I think we need at least 2 more-want to carry at least 8 on the roster in case of injuries. Forwards, just not sure if we look for 2 or only 1 more. My gut feeling is Malchuk stays another year-which would be great for the team.

I have the same feeling as you regarding Bradley. So I think we will see two more dmen recruited for next year. As for the forwards, I can definately see at least two more being added, maybe even three. Just speculation on my part but I think if Malchuk stays Miller comes in 2012, if he leaves then Miller comes in next year. Also likely to see a goaltender added before the end of the season, getting Keeney would make me very happy. He has the option of coming next year (if York signs) or in 2012 when York graduates.

Hopefully Neal's buddy in S'ville? Do you think Seth has offered him yet already? :D
Who knows.... Id like to see him in cherry and white. :D If you can believe any words from a certain poster who recently was banned, then RPI has offers out to two dmen in BC and USHL.....

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. II

Just thinking out loud, If in fact we are looking at dmen in USHL a couple names I wouldnt mind seeing pop up are:
Barrett Kaib- Hard hitting dman from the Under-18 team, also a teammate with Haggerty.
Nolan Zajac- good solid dman playing for Cedar Rapids, would be a nice addition to the RPI/Union rivalry with his brother Kelly playing across town.
Brian Cooper- was teammates with Bradley on the US team that played in the Hlinka tournament over the summer. Plays for Fargo (which is where Appert was when he did that interview with college hockey all-access last season. Could Seth have been watching him when we all thought he was after Grant Scott?) Has a brother playing in BCHL. Ill also add that F-Justin Selman who we lost out to Michigan for was on that same Hlinka team.

Wicked, I noticed Coldwell is also still available. I think you were watching him at some point last season. He seems to be ranked pretty high by CH.
Interesting collection of possibilities.

Maybe Nolan Zajac is the Player to be Named Later in the trade for Josh Jooris. :D
