It was a pleasure to meet you and your young squire...this experience is turning out to be everything and more than we envisioned. The Hubster (who is a bit more reserved than I am...)is so happy that our son chose this school, this program. This is gonna' be a fun 4 years...:)

Glad to see that the BRO is in the lineup tonight along with Smith and Rogic. SA is certainly putting kids in a position to play and fight for a full time spot. You are right - going to be several great years ahead. See you all tonight.

For the football fans-RPI lost to a very good Utica team 38-28 today. We have what appears to be a very decnt team that unfortunately just gives up too many points. We can score and move the ball well but our defense just does not seem to be able to stop teams as we have gotten used to in the past many years. This might just be a bit of a rebuilding year but it is still pretty exciting and we are not all that far behind in the LL standings yet.

Those of us who have followed this program for a long time( and a few of us who have followed for a very long time) want to express our gratitude that Luke and his parents decided to join this program also. We look forward to some great years-and Jenny and I cannot wait to meet up with you. Now let's go out and even up this weekend series and start the ball rolling!!

To me, it looked like our team was a little unprepared for MSU at the beginning of the game, whether it was confidence from last weekend's shutout, or the difference between ECAC and WCHA play, I don't know. Thankfully we shook it off pretty quickly. Watching Minnesota, all I could think was that if this was the 11th team out of 12 last year, no wonder we got steamrolled by NoDak. I was very happy that we held our own in the game yesterday. Diebold was fantastic, I couldn't believe some of the saves he made. Our power play was a little frustrating, especially after doing so well with it against Acadia. There were two factors that really stood out to me as part of what kept us from doing better. One was that at times it seemed like we had individuals out on the ice, not a team, and that it was preventing them from completing plays and getting scoring chances. The other was that at times we seemed to be playing "swarm hockey"-the entire team would be clustered together, chasing the puck, instead of leaving themselves open for passing. Overall, not a bad effort though. Hopefully we learned a lot yesterday and will do better tonight! (Of course this is all just my two cents.)

I was sorry to hear that the player who went down yesterday broke his arm, and was also MSU's captain--that's a very rough start to the season. I hope it heals soon, and that he is able to offer the team leadership off the ice as well-I know that was key for us when JFK had a broken wrist.

Would have been very easy after losing a heartbreaker with a minute or so left on Friday to fold up and collapse for the weekend. Shows a lot of chutspah for this team to play like they did tonight. Defense has been solid all around and goaltending near fabulous. Offense starting to make thing happen a bit. Anticipating next week's road trip. Good luck to the boys!

What a game tonight for RPI! Everything seemed to come together much better for us tonight. Can't believe we held them off for a full two minutes of 5-on-3, but the kill looked fantastic.
It was great to get a schedule signed by all of the guys on the team and even joke with them about the songs we played tonight! I also got to meet babo, who was just about the nicest woman we could have backing our team. I never in my life expected to get a hug from a player's mother :p

I had pretty much the same night as Lugnut92, have to say that was an amazing game and it was great to say hi to babo and also FlagDUDE08. :) It was also fantastic to get the schedule and a puck signed by all the players and Appert. I can't wait for this season to continue - I'm feeling optimistic and excited!

I heard a few people with Katamari on the Rocks there... I still remember when that and Korobeiniki (the theme to Tetris game boy) got into the repertoire. You made my day.

Hate to ruin it for you, but Katamari was played as a veto for Tetris, and Tetris was played as a veto for Zelda... I had trouble with the trumpet section last night :o

She is the ultimate Hockey Mom!!! Was with her Fri for a little while and people were calling out her handle from the board and coming up to her. She is as beautiful on the inside as on the outside. For the single guys on the board you can use that one.

Didn't make game last night, hanging with the newborn but from seeing Fri.'s game and seeing the shots on goal last night,it looks to me like we have changed styles. We are shotting the puck more. I counted 7 or 8 shots for Haggs Fri. night. More of a Princeton style under Gad. I like it. I assume that we are playing this way because we have the personnel to play this style. Sometimes I didn't think we shot enough last season. Also it seems that we are willing to go to the dirty spots in front to score those greasy goals that are needed especially in the clutch and grab ECAC. Nice bounce back from the fellas. Nice to see Bails with a strong game. Felt bad for him Fri night. You can see his leadership out there. Patty K is ready for the breakout.

Nice win for RPI last night. It would have been a tough way to open the season with two losses no matter how you spin it. I think that tough OOC competition is a key component to postseason success. Something that the team across the river is also getting to understand. The problem is that for the most part both teams need to go to their OOC opponents which makes it even tougher, but in the long run probably even more will be gained.

Seems like Coach is going to use Nick Bailen a lot. He was out on the ice a majority of the time last night. Good game. It seems like things are finally coming together. The goalies both rocked this weekend. Strong start for them. The freshman are working well with the upper classman and the hard workers are still making things happen. Thought that O'Grady and CJ both had good games last night. They don't quit. Looks like Hicks is going to be the same as last year so hope we don't pull him too often as ref. Hope the boys continue to improve on the PP after a slow start on Friday night.

I'm happy to hear about any airtime Katamari on the Rocks gets, regardless of the circumstances. :)

I still remember at one women's game, we veto'd Tarantella for an ENTIRE period (thankfully no Five Note Random). Quite funny. Get used to it, though, it's fun times.

Last year we started the season with a loss and a tie, so it's that I word (not saying it since I don't want everyone else to see that one poster). It is an unfortunate thing that some teams will make us travel for OOC games. I especially dislike Michigan's tactic of one-and-done, pay them and then get the fudge out. I don't know why schools would want to play a team that does that. Thankfully HFH has enough history that western and HEA teams are willing to come to our site (heck, we hosted a Frozen Four). You're absolutely right, though, that the tougher competition makes us better.

I thought he said goals would come from his seniors.

I'm a little disappointed that JL hasn't hit the scoresheet yet. Makes me wonder if teams are focusing on him due to his junior rep.
