Great job by all. I couldn't join the fray yesterday because the Mrs. had our third child. I see that johnk has brought the A-game. I'm sure you guys got the note from HD that he had a family member play at RPI or he called you a foul name in your reputation folder. Somethings never change.

Congrats!

Can you elaborate? We are just discussing injury info that was in a news report available to the public.

P.s. Congrats on the kiddo. :)

I believe AspyDad's concern is in regard to us "volunteering information". Yes, it's in the public domain so it's fair game, but there's concern about drawing attention to it, as if opposing players and coaches have time in their busy schedule to read a hockey fan forum.

Maybe then we should thank Hokydad for posting a lot of misinformation here. :)

I was thinking the exact same thing. Given the volume of activity on the RPI threads is quite high, it's a lot more difficult to weed through the junk in order to find something pertinent.

For once, Hokeydope did something to help us. (cue 50-post vindication in 3... 2... 1...)

Thats not nice Ralph, I am not the one who posts stuff like "points to be added", "game sheet to be changed"

Amazing, 9 points in 11 games, 2 in next 50 after pointing out

Amazing coincidence

You aren't the only one, but so long as you think that RPI is not a program on the rise, by which I mean getting better, you are posting misinformation. I don't mean that the team is very good now, but the current team is much better than that when SA took over. Such posts could cause other teams' coaches and players not to bother reading through hundreds of posts to find a bit of correct information which is not otherwise available.

If you know you're playing against someone with high stats on another team, you'd be a fool not to enact a game strategy that forces that opposing player to earn those stats by having to go up against your best players. It's called common sense. I realize you probably missed that day of kindergarten.

Where are those Union posts you said you'd copy and paste...

3 people saying the team is on the rise and better is not "correct information"

Correct information is

5th and 6th placed finish in a soft league after 5 or 6 years
first rd loss in ecac tourn back to back years to dead last and next to last team, worst relative performance by any team in league last 2 seasons
league wins went down from 2010 to 2011

that is correct information.. if not, please provide

League wins went down from 2010 to 2011? Not a troll, just downright ignorant.

Must admit that I didn't go to many games during the lost decade of RPI hockey. Became a season ticket holder when they hired the young man from DU and became serious again. However, my first game at HFH, Ian Harrison was in goal, so I'm barely a johnny come lately like you allude to in your not so veiled shot at me.

Goober! Goober!

Re: RPI 2011-12 Season: Posts on a Message Board

you are right

10-9-3 to 11-9-2

instead of a tie, they won a game . i stand corrected

no question that is a rise

and what did they do with extra point, lost to dead last placed team vs next to last place team

We are all jones-ing for hockey to start again. Think of it as a forechecking practice session so to speak...keep the other team bottled up in their end....maybe try to goad someone into losing his cool while you keep yours.....

I remember at the RPI QU game in 2010 in Hamden, we were right next to the ice and Foss was carrying the puck up along the boards right in front of us, and a QU player was taking a bead on him....Foss saw him out of the corner of his eye and actually grinned a little, he kept his head down, passed the puck, and suddenly stopped short, and the QU player smashed into the boards in front of him, missing him entirely. The QU guy was annoyed and dug at Foss with his stick, Foss pushed the stick away, looked away, smiled, and skated off. It was classic.

I recall that play...one of those 'snapshot' moments that you think back to over and over (Rabbani's bone crushing hit in the playoff game last year is another)

There's one I remember... JFK's freshman year during the Governor's Cup, he just lays out this Colgate player in open ice. From watching what happened before (not much), you get the feeling the player must have "said something" to Kennedy, if you know what I mean.

This is a program on rise

14-19-3
15-14-6
19-17-3
21-12-6
26-10-4

First time ever regular season champs
First time ever NCAA tournament bid
First time eevr top 10 ranking

That is rising

Safe to say Union was in worse shape and had zero history.

Anyone who is good with video compilations: Any chance on making a Rabbani hit reel? :D
