Re: RPI 2011-12 Part V: Don't Stop Believing

She has way too much time on her hands. I'm all for eliminating the national anthem before sporting events. Except for the singer at RPI games, it is often butchered by performers and that is much more disrespectful than shouting during it.

A key change between "Terre de nos aïeux" and "Ton front est ceint" is NOT butchering it? Granted, she doesn't do that anymore...

There was also a semi-regular that didn't quite get the first line of "Protégera nos foyers et nos droits" correct.

Actually, come to think of it, "Il sait porter la croix" isn't QUITE right.

Sorry for the intrusion..

What's the full wording of the Go Red (maybe it's Go You Red?) cheer that the RPI fans say? Having a debate with someone after we heard it at the UConn Tourney. Thanks in advance!

Ooo la la! such wit! and such knowledge of the language.
You helped me make my point. Get rid of it.

I think this is the cheer you're referring to.

Go, go, go, you red, red, red!
Fight, fight, fight, you white, white, white!

This can be followed by "Let's go red...Let's go red..." repeated ad nauseam.

about as sophisticated as

"Rah, Rah, Ree, kick him in the knee;

Rah, Rah, Rass, kick him in the...other knee!" from elementary school....

Then we'd take it one step further. "Rah Rah Rick, kick him in the...oops, ran out of knees ;)

Re: RPI 2011-12 Part V: Don't Stop Believing

That is true, but I do think taht our powerplay still sucks. The available talent does not seem to me to be used well.

I gave up reading Maine threads for Lent. (Oops. Wrong thread. :D )

100% AGREE!!! Hockey is more than just skating as we can see by the stats. It's not working for us. I wish Appert would learn how to use: Rabbani, Smith, Burgdoefer so that we could have more muscle power and strength out there with our skaters. Still dont think AAG is being used properly as well. He's a non factor on the ice.

She doesn't sing it in French. Jeez.

I am surprised that FD08 posted that since there is only one letter with an accent. I would have also expected a cedilla or two. ;)

In any case, this weekend I hope to see a 130-minute effort, despite the mice, despite win, lose, or tie. We have absolutely NOTHING to lose whatsoever. There may be a tomorrow, but there is no day after tomorrow. Let's grab this weekend by the horns and play hard!

Re: RPI 2011-12 Part V: Don't Stop Believing

I have always been play well in your own end type of guy. It has been mentoined by others that RPI doesn't have the netminders to win one and two goal games. I don't know if that is the case. The goalies have been pretty impressive at times.
That being said, if I was Seth I would just open it up these next two games and see what happens. You are going to get in the tournament anyway. Let the players have some fun! Who knows?

Re: RPI 2011-12 Part V: Don't Stop Believing

For those coming to AC for the ECAC tournament-the game times have been moved up so that the early game each day is at 4PM instead of 4:30.

Extra half hour at the strip clubs for everyone!

Re: RPI 2011-12 Part V: Don't Stop Believing

Not directly related to RPI but I thought this was a really interesting write-up regarding the recent news with Paul Kelly and College Hockey Inc. Could be another entertaining off-season...

http://unitedstatesofhockey.com/2012/02/24/paul-kelly-explains-surprise-resignation-what-comes-next/

"We certainly were not trying to overthrow any system or structure, and neither were the coaches,” Kelly wrote. “However, the coaches did deserve to have their views and vision for what College Hockey, Inc. could and should be properly addressed at the April convention. It appears from recent events that the Commissioners would rather not have this issue raised for legitimate discussion and deliberation.

Wodon got reaction from a few veteran college hockey coaches and Steve Hagwell, ECAC commissioner and president of the Hockey Commissioners Association, on this situation, but did not speak with Kelly.

These are quotes from that article.Hmmmmmmmmmmmm Steve Hagwell doing things in the dark w/no explination and Adam Woden getting half the story who woulda thunk !!!!w

May also shed some light on the beef Shagwell has w/SA thus RPI.My understanding is he is one of the driving forces in College Hockey Inc.and I believe past president.Would love to hear from my conspiricy theory expert ADad.Well was going to spend the rest of the evening reading college hockey news but Im going to skip and read the National Enquirer much more infomative !!!!
