Re: RPI 2011-12 Part V: Don't Stop Believing

It's clucking chicken night. :p:D

If people are going to go goo-goo-ga-ga over "special games", maybe we should come up with dopey promotions for every other night.

They are bringing back the Chicken? Say that it isn't so! :D

Re: RPI 2011-12 Part V: Don't Stop Believing

Looked that way to me.

I tend to agree with you RC. I completely understand Vaughn pushing Smith's Hobey candidacy, but I think after he tallied the hat trick, it was time to call off the dogs. If memory serves, they were rolling the top lines late into 3rd period.

That said, for me it boils down to RPI's responsibility to sack up, find some semblance of pride and stop the bleeding, which we certainly struggled to do that night.

Nothing will make me happier than when we can return the favor to Coach Vaughn...and I suspect Seth feels the same way.

Re: RPI 2011-12 Part V: Don't Stop Believing

It seemed to me that we were just falling apart.

Exactly. We could have put Appert in goal for all that would have mattered-goaltending wasn't the root of the problem that night. I really admire the way the team's bounced back after Freakout!-here's to two more solid games this weekend!

From what I have read, SA wasn't a great goalie. :)

Re: RPI 2011-12 Part V: Don't Stop Believing

We need to stop screening our own goalie. Like three months ago would have been a good time to start, but I'll take now.

Although we only scored once-the defense needed to play one of their better games. Deflections happen-but we seem to suffer more from them than we should. Things did not go our way in some other games either as brown came back to tie Harvard. The only result in Yale dartmouth that would hurt us is a tie. But now tomorrow with princeton coming in-we have got to put together one of our best efforts before heading out on the road.

Re: RPI 2011-12 Part V: Don't Stop Believing

Tough loss tonight, but oh well, what can you do. Btw, are we really complaining because a team didn't try to stop scoring? So say we're beating someone 5-1, should we just stop trying out of pity for the other team? That would kind of be an arrogant move that could come back to bite us, or in that case them. As it did against Dartmouth 2 weeks earlier.

Here's to a W tomorrow on senior night! If only York, JDA, and BP were still around...we could've been on our way to capturing our second straight Cleary Cup.

If only I had gotten that Ace of hearts when I was at the casino I would have made $35,000. Yes because those three would have led this team without the help of the rest of the team.... they are gone, have been for a while, let it go.

BTW, I would like to invite the 2,700 coaches that were at the game last night to apply for the head coaching job. Really enjoyed hearing one of the coaches take apart everything this team did last night, right down to the line changes. Not saying you cant be critical of the team at times but for an entire 60 minute game cmon if its that bad your free to leave whenever you want. Its not Pyongyang where your forced to stay and chant every chant and clap when told.

Re: RPI 2011-12 Part V: Don't Stop Believing

SA really summed this one up well. We lost the special teams game 1-0 and we let in one long soft goal. otherwise this was a close battle. Unfortunately we find a way to do that many nights against different teams. let's hope we can put 60 minutes together tonight-win the special teams battle, score a softie ourselves and come out on top.
