Re: RPI 2011 - 12 Part IV: We ain't Bailen on this season yet, Go Red!!

The league games could potentially be split as they are this year as well.
I guess its possible but isnt the reason the Union games are usually split up because one of the schools students are on break? Take this season, both games would probably have been next weekend but I think RPI is still on break, so they moved the RPI home game earlier in the season.

I kind of suspect the LP games might end up back in October.
I couldnt make the Placid game this season, how did the attendance compare to last year when it was held in October?

The attendance didn't seem as good.

Re: RPI 2011 - 12 Part IV: We ain't Bailen on this season yet, Go Red!!

I wonder how much of that was due to moving the games to December or if the event is just simply losing its novelty.

I'd say novelty. The Can/Am was the same weekend again, not to mention there wasn't other competition (Dutchman's Shoes was the same time last year). The weather wasn't bad, so I'd consider the time of year to be a wash. I'm sure if the ECAC championships moved back up there (say what you want about the rink size), it'd be full once more.

I guess the more this is brought up, the less the Division III Frozen Four is held there the same weekend? Must be.

How nice of Beman to put some tags onto the thread, despite the fact that he can't spell. -_-

Are you talkin about me? Geepers you creep out a hockey parent. You want to meet an "old codger like me" to what beat me up. I see you are suppose to be a professional journalist? You need to do a little soul searching. You are fighting with "old codgers" on the internet. tee hee!
Oh by the way everyone that has been on this site for a while knows you have more than one handle. You are so pathetic. Keep paddling nitwit.

Ok Seth 3 and 15 let it go this weekend what have you got to loose Offensive Offensive Offensive. Not my style but what can you loose!

Have you heard of Projecting? Soul searching always begins within.

I love the fact that Wyland is so upbeat, but I wonder what he is basing this statement on. The team seems to be getting worse, not better.
Let's hope Coach Appert and the boys have figured it out and the comeback begins tomorrow night. LGR!

On Faith! Faith is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen!

Looking forward to watching the game on TV. I hope is that we dont have a repeat of the UMASS/Lowell All underclassmen fiasco again. Very embarassing.

We need speed, experience, physical play and of course, skill. Dolan and Curadi are the physical on D and we need to see more of that. Malchuk, Lee and Rabbani are physical forwards. We need to see more of that. And the scoring skills from Higgs, Schroder and Haggarty.

Put Diebold in net and lets go for the win.

Good Luck!

Interesting to see USCHO run an article saying that goals scored in 6 x 5 situations by attacking team is much higher than average this year, after our 'conversation' about it here.

I sure hope it remains a theoretical exercise from here on out, and not a practical one!

Or it happens to be working on the D-III side, and not on the D-I side. ;)

Hoping you left out Laliberte simply by accident.;)

To draw from the old phrase, the "big fish" seems to be having difficulty adapting to a bigger pond. I don't doubt that we'll eventually see that goal/game prowess from juniors (maybe not a goal a game in this league, but at least 20 goals a year), but he isn't there yet. It wouldn't surprise me if he has that breakout game he needs to get going.

The tv production truck was already parked in back of the fieldhouse this afternoon with a crew inside setting up equipment. Hopefully the building is packed and RPI can put forth a good showing for the national viewing audience.

I don't see how a big crowd will be possible with school out and the game on tv.
I would love for RPI to make a good impression, but I don't see it coming from the crowd.
Play a great game and forget about the people in the stands.
