Re: RPI 2011 - 12 Part IV: We ain't Bailen on this season yet, Go Red!!

ah., but what proportion of the overall team is new? teams that blend experience with fresh blood generally have different outcomes than teams that lose nearly all of their leaders at once, as it inevitably takes time for new leaders to develop. It is much different developing new leaders as they mature compared to developing an entire corp of new leadership from scratch.

As far as the proportion is concerned, you do the math.....take every D-1 team and deterimine the percentage of incoming freshmen relative to the overall make up of that individual team relative to the rest of the classes. As far as leadership is concerned, based on what you are saying is that leadership can only be provided by one or a group that are upperclassmen, as in SENIORS!!!! However, it may be singular as in upperclassman, senior.

When it comes to leadership, some don't need 4 years to develop!! You don't develop leadership from scratch!!!!!! You develop leadership from what leadership characteristics currently exist and then you build. If there are no leadership qualities, then no consideration for leadership!

If this is your argument, please compare RPI and Lowell as a team by class and get back to me with the results.

Can you please just stick to the too many keys you're pounding on the computer because your knowledge is false and I will call you on it every time! However, you are entitled to your opinion:)

Are you a drum beater??

Mike Emerick in promoting the game Friday between Dartmouth and RPI referred to us as the Red Hawks.
How does that sort of thing happen? Doc knows better.
heard the same. Doc does know better but it sounded like he was reading it off a script. As an NHL announcer, Doc Emmerick, by far, will cite a player's college background. My wish would be that more NHL announcers would do the same as a way of promoting the college game...much the way Pierre McGuire does for Major Jr.'s.

Think I'll just let him talk to himself. Don't know how asking someone to speak slanderous words to my face rather than behind a computer constitutes an invitation to fight, but I guess it makes sense to him.
Are you talkin about me? Geepers you creep out a hockey parent. You want to meet an "old codger like me" to what beat me up. I see you are suppose to be a professional journalist? You need to do a little soul searching. You are fighting with "old codgers" on the internet. tee hee!
Oh by the way everyone that has been on this site for a while knows you have more than one handle. You are so pathetic. Keep paddling nitwit.

Ok Seth 3 and 15 let it go this weekend what have you got to loose Offensive Offensive Offensive. Not my style but what can you loose!

I received an email from my brother asking me if I knew that RPI will be on Versus on Friday. :D

I'll let it slide, as long as he didn't call us the "Three and Fifteen Red Hawks." :o

How many stupid mistakes have you identified in a hockey game that a player can make and how do you know that a player isn't making the same stupid mistake unless you are logging the info

apparently someone is

The same person made the same stupid mistake between MSU-M and Q-Pac. Two months too much? How about the same mistake THE NIGHT BEFORE leading to an ENG in the Princeton game?

I'll step aside and let you two argue directly with each other for awhile.

As far as the [blah, blah, blah]....[blah, blah, blah]....[gratuitous insult].....

Are we even in the same conversation? There was collaborative speculation on what might be a problem and what might be required to fix it.

Might it be this? Might it be that?

and your response is "aren't you stupid?"

Glad you are not on my team! How does that help anything? :p

I don't think I need to say much more about this guy. His own words speak volumes about the kind of person he is.

And I'm pretty open about "having more than one handle." Keep grabbing at straws, Beman. Since you've now threatened me with physical violence in two consecutive posts, I think I'll be hailing public safety if I ever see you around me regardless of your ability to carry out your threats - you honestly frighten me. For the time being, welcome to ignore. It's not as satisfying as soundly refuting you but eminently more effective.

Goodbye, fool.

...so anyway, our team is 3-15-0.

What do we do about that?

Not much, since we don't have any impact whatsoever on how the team plays.

We go and watch hockey this weekend and try to find something to think that this might turn around. If we do see this team quit on the ice than the issues might not be fixable this season. Hoping that is not the case. About as simple as I can keep it.

Somehow missed this post. Looks like the Union games will probably be the last weekend in January (25th+26th). It will be interesting to see when the LP game is going to be since RPI and Union have league games that second weekend in December. Although I wouldnt mind seeing the single day format scrapped and replaced with a two day holiday tournament but invite some teams from different conferences instead of having four ECAC teams. Maybe one north country and one capital district team along with two other invites and just rotate NC/CD teams each year some what similar to the Florida tournament that Cornell and Maine host every year.

The league games could potentially be split as they are this year as well. I kind of suspect the LP games might end up back in October.
