These boys are still pulling for one another...I submit to you this season will have highs once again...

Oh no, someone doesn't respect me.

I have crossed swords with you at times-but what you did about the young female hockey player who succumbed to cancer gave me a level of respect for you that just outweighs a lot of stuff. Just something I won't forget. Besides, I take a lot of what is posted on the board with a few grains of salt.:)

I also think we will see some much better times soon-if we can get healthy and stay healthy.

If I'm a coward because I won't be drawn into a peeing contest over a whole lot of nothing, then it's a badge of honor.

No, because you whimpered up to me and actually ASKED for an invite to my home...I had to wash my hands after that...Coward. Be who you are..that's fine...Coward

DrD, the thing I like most about you is that when we cross swords it is always over something very much of relevance and never gets too heated. Plus you've been known to dish out as much as you take and that is the true mark of a worthy debate.

Salt, I have found, makes everything tasty. I don't know if that's true of the Cherrynimbus, but everyone's mileage may very.

And thank you for those kind words with regards to Mandi. I only wish I could have done more. :(

Re: RPI 2011 - 12 Part IV: We ain't Bailen on this season yet, Go Red!!

I would like to invite back those RPI fans who have posted in the past and who've left because of the bile that spews from a very few...just as we ignore HD, we can just as easily ignore Tom when he puts on his invisible childhood invisible friend Cloud (or is it CLOWN?) costume. Come on back...we can talk some hockey...we can talk some silliness...AND we can be adults and ignore the spoiled little snot in the room (because the law prohibits us from open-hand back handed smacking the little D**kh**d across his snarky little mush)...

One of the reasons they won't come back and just use the ignore feature is not because of that fact, but because the poster in question garners quoted responses. My source is probably one of the best posters this corner of the forum has ever seen.

Uh... right. I'm kind of weirded out right now.

You sidled up to me at the Quinnipiac game while I was with my family , YOU LIAR! You brought your girlfriend and asked for an invite, specifically asked about being invited back to my house, YOU LIAR! Liar AND coward...now I see behind the mask...don't try to make it sound like I did something here.

I'm sure many of us have had times in our lives where we wish, in these situations, we could have done more. I've kicked myself MANY times in the past over this (not regarding Mandi, but another person). We cannot change the past, but we can look forward and hope to provide a better future.

No, actually I said hello and got a cold response. Then I remarked that the party was probably not going to be happening at your place (a reference to the unfortunate events of the previous period) and got a very snippy response. I took that as an indication that you didn't want me around, and I left. Never asked about whether I would be at said party, nor did I indicate a desire to attend. Heck, I didn't even know about the existence of any actual party - I was trying to lighten the mood.

Oh well.

This is exactly what makes the practice of medicine so difficult for me. I always think there is something else we could do, or should do. I had the chance early in my career to go to veterinary school at Cornell, or medical School in Albany. I just coul dnot do what vets often have to do-put down otherwise healthy animals. It is one thing to put an animal to sleep if he is suffering and there is no hope. It is quite another to put down a dog simply because an owner wants it done-and it is after all his property and he can make that decision. I made the choice to practice human medicine-never regretted it-but must admit both Jenny and i can recall just about everyone of those gut wrenching cases where we felt we let a patient or their family down in some way. Sorry to digress.

Now you ARE outright lying. You are a liar and a coward. You know I've previously extended to the blog that those wishing to attend games close to my house are invited back...you made specific reference to that. When I said no to YOU, you told me you were just stopping to say hello...smarmy and weak and cowardly. You slithered away...coward. Man up.

Look, you can believe me, or not, and you choose not to believe me. That's your right. You can make a big deal out of nothing, or not. That's your right.

Bottom line, I didn't know (and don't know) why I got a hostile reception, I didn't know about any actual party (if you mentioned it here, I may have missed it... I don't read the entire thread, especially on the weekends), and if I "slithered away," it's because it was pretty obvious that despite my friendly intentions, you had no interest in reciprocating. Fine by me. I left and didn't think much else about it until now.

If you have anything further to say, I invite you to send me an email, or a private message on the board. There's no reason to air more of this here.

EDIT: I hope your party was enjoyable.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaanyway... I'm definitely not bullish on this team anymore, though it's more a function of facing our current situation than anything. We haven't been healthy all year long and just when it looks like we're getting better on that front, suddenly we're not. Cullen back, but Haggerty out three games now. Koudys a scratch on Saturday. Still no Neal, who could really give a boost on the draw if nothing else.

The issue I see with this team that does not go away is in leadership. Defensively, the most sound guys on the team on a night-in, night-out basis are Leonard, Dolan, and Koudys. I can't name Bergin or Bailen with a straight face. The former is in the box far too frequently. The latter sometimes forces me to remind myself that he was an All-American last year with the defensive blunders - not all of which lead to goals but many of which lead to golden opportunities. That takes what should be an asset - defense - and turns it into a "let's make Merriam stand on his head" deal.

Offensively, the freshmen are finally coming alive, but they're still adjusting to the rigors of the college game (and remember this about Bourbonnais and Zalewski for next season). I've never thought that Malchuk and Angers-Goulet were going to be offensive leaders and to some extent it almost feels like they're trying to do too much. They're grinders, they're good at that. Wouldn't trade them for anyone in the league on the penalty kill.

Oh no you don't...you do not dictate how where or when I say something ...now you want private conversation about your slimy behavior? That's even slimier. This gets finished in the light of day. You taste your own medicine Red Real fake boy...and don't give me that 'I don't follow the thread...only on weekends' routine. You have now exposed yourself as a worm...you have no credibility. and now you're dismissed...

You're clean as a whistle, natch.
