RPI 2011-12 Part III: Our Goal is to be Offensive

Re: RPI 2011-12 Part III: Our Goal is to be Offensive

It seems that we sustain more practice injuries than game injuries. I wonder what is going on with that?

It happens when you have a lot of depth, especially at the forward position. It is during practice where those "bubble" players attempt to make an impression and are going all out to get into the line up. Not a bad thing, depending on how many "bubble" players there are.

It wouldn't matter. I'm so pasty white that I'd STILL burn, peel, and freckle.

Eventually you will be needing my services. Burn, peel and freckle equates to all sorts of skin malignancies 20-40 years down the road. I hope my hands do not shake by then;) Actually I am just hoping my brain is still functioning by then.

Hence why I do not get much sun. ;)

This conversation is a great example of why I stopped taking this board seriously a long time ago.

I doesn't help the team when the bubble players are taking out our top line forwards.

I would imagine the extent of all our 'practice' injuries has had a considerable effect on our current record. I still feel a healthy RPI team would be far better than the 3-12 currently.

However, the other teams also have injuries. E.g., QU was missing both Joneses.

As much as I enjoy the hockey talk, I also enjoy the off-topic talk, too. It's a nice reprieve from our team's woes and it just goes to show that we're human and want to actually chat with each other.

Also, it is difficult to talk about this team's results too much. :(

Were they injured in practice too? It was the injuries occurring in practice I was referring to. Game injuries happen-to every team.

Some might suggest (not I of course ;)) that perhaps you take yourself too seriously?

I've been biding my time waiting until we get to post # 960 or so to introduce the topic of the next thread title, since we'll need 25 posts or so back and forth to discuss that worthy topic, even if it is not exclusively focused on the action on the ice or in the locker room. :p

I again would vote for a pun on "off the post" though it sounds like you might prefer a pun on the word "board" eh? We might actually make that a double-pun if someone is clever enough, boards on the rink / message board / being bored with non-hockey chatter.

If we hit a good number of posts and crossbars, I'd be good for that. However, one thing that seems to be happening a lot is that the team is missing open nets. Obviously I'm not going to suggest "Is this thread regulation size or what?" for a thread title (OK, maybe I just did by posting it), but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a discrepancy between "trying too hard" and "not trying hard enough".

People can believe what they want, since I've never cared what people think of me, but the opposite is generally true. Most of the people who decide they want to fight Red Cloud are people who take themselves too seriously and are way too uptight about me for whatever reason.

I concur

Well, that's why God created the Cafe.
