Re: RPI 2011-12 Part II: We Like to Post!

"The cancer" reminds me of a lot of the professional sports fans that I know, the sport only boils down to W/L/T records for them. How sad that the fact that we're easily playing one of the hardest, most ambitious OOC schedules of any of the ECAC teams seems to evade some. Or they go ahead and decide to leave out the majority of the teams we've faced/are facing.

Some illogicality (is that a word? If not, it is now) makes my head spin

I do not believe for a second that their schedule is the toughest in ECAC, not for a second.

Minnesota State(1-5) with only win vs RPI)
Minnesota State
U MASS Lowell(played 2-5 MN State twice and lost to U Conn)
Army(0-3-1)
U Conn(2-2-1)
AIC(0-5)
RIT(1-2-1)

These 7 games would be considered lay ups

As I stated... "Or they go ahead and decide to leave out the majority of the teams we've faced/are facing."

You kinda forgot Notre Dame, a doubleheader against Ferris State, and the upcoming doubleheader against Colorado College, i.e. essentially half of our OOC schedule. You're also basing your toughness of schedule on the current records of these into the season so far... which is 3 weeks. Also a fan of how its pointed out that OMG MSU's ONE WIN was against RPI... apparently you didn't watch that game or read the recap.

Only place I agree upon with weak opponents is the Army and AIC. An opponent is still an opponent and they need to be beaten for a win.

I'm done, it's cool you think our schedule hasn't been hard so far, but I think you should redirect that effort at Clarkson who have played Sacred Heart and AIC and people are drooling over their record so far, or Union who have tied Niagara and Western Michigan and beaten the Army, none of which I could consider "stellar".

ah, but you assumed that there might be logic there at the outset.....not a valid assumption. Envy and spite are never logical.

if you ignore totally, you won't even pay any attention to any of the words and you spare yourself both illogicality and aggravation.

I'm done.

We are trying a collective concerted effort never to reply or acknowledge the cancer at all. We just want him to go away and leave us alone. He craves attention; a total absence of responses is the only solution.

Noted. I'm pretty sure we're being trolled anyway, so it's time to activate my ignore mode.

Question for the experts: has/will RPI ever played/play Providence?

I seem to recall some game in the spring of 1985...

On a serious note... augenblick and the RPI Media Guide (PDF) both agree that RPI is 24-26-4 against the Friars. The first game was played on Feb 13, 1953; Providence won most recently on Oct 12, 2003; RPI won most recently on Nov 26, 2005.

Edit: Sorry, Ralph, I cheated by posting a wise-azz answer first and then editing with details.

Most recently on 11/26/05. The lifetime record is 24-26-4 in PC's favor, but we beat them when it counted on 3/30/85, even if Servinis was offside. :D Now that we have played Mankato, the only schools that we have never played are Canisius, UNO, and NMU.

Edit: It took too long to look up the details. :D

White-out Wednesday in 2004-05 was against Providence. White-out was originally meant to be a way to get people to attend a mid-week game.

No problem burgie. We did use the same source for details, but I trust Kurt Stutt.
