Re: RPI 2010 Offseason VI: The NHL's CBA Doesn't Appear to Have Been a Boon for the Tute.

I hope so. I'm a little surprised that we're inviting in two AHL teams to play in our newly renovated barn, without the whole renovations thing.

Also (and this is just my opinion / presumption), if the "drop-dead date" is October 16th, that shows poorly on the project's planning, ignoring the exhibitions and women's regular season games that occur before the first men's home game.

From what I've heard, there were changes to the design after construction was already underway, which led to delays. I believe the original plan had construction being complete prior to this weekend.

I'm intrigued to see what happens next weekend when the ticket office is still being run of ECAV and they need to sell tickets for the AHL exhibition. Do they send people up to the stadium to buy tickets, or set up a temporary ticket window on the sidewalk outside the south doors of HFH?

That makes a lot more sense. Thank you for the explanation.

I would expect that a temporary ticket window would be set up. However, without computers, their job would be infinitely harder and I'm sure some people would be upset that they couldn't use credit cards / RAD to pay.

That's what I was saying back in May and June when nothing was happening :D Even if there were design changes inside, it doesn't account for all of the exterior work that could've been completed by now -- steps, sidewalks, etc. All in all, I'm not upset...but rather pleased and surprised the updates are being made far more quickly than I ever thought we'd see them.

Moved this from other thread as I am drifting it further from recruits. Also, this thread has to close soon or be abandoned. :D

I don't disagree...I think 5'10 180 frosh kids a la JD'A and Brock Higgs are about the low end. At their current rate, the Spinks won't have any trouble hitting that mark. The talent pool for big forwards with skill is pretty limited. Rogic, at 6'+ has size and speed...he will surprise and will only be tougher to play against as he adds mass. Cullen is now 6' 190...Tinordi, Burger Jr., Rabbani, Malchuk..we've got more beef upfront than some folks think.

Hopefully, Rogic is an honest 6' 190lb as listed on the roster. If so, with his speed, he will really be a help.

Smith also certainly has size, but I wonder if he will ever be in the lineup on a regular basis.

I think we have more size this coming year than we have had in the recent past. I like this trend

Given the padding that typically takes place on roster stats, I think he is as close to 6'0 as anyone else's 6 footer. :D

from watching the practices at the Knick, I would say that Rogic is an honest 6'...just by comparrison to the other players on the ice that I know (their heights that is)

The first USA Today Top 15 college hockey poll his out. RPI didn't place, but rec'd 16 votes.

Coach Appert on what polls mean, "It is what it is. I hope our young men view it as a slap in the face."
