Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Sounds about right. Not saying this is true of everyone on there but that list is generally ruled by full fledged members of the Order of the Rubber Bedsheets. The same morons who were talking down D'Amigo so much last season that his family ended up getting involved are probably the same idiots who are proclaiming the death of the program due to his departure. It never fails with these dopes - and I'm sure they found some direct link to the firing of Mike Adessa to boot.

RC - Are they the same crowd that reminisces about the glory days of the fridge era?

NHL Network is going to be covering the RDO camp featuring Patrick Koudys. 9pm on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
I just looked at my guide (DirecTV) & it lists the time as 10:30pm-12am....Wed. & Thurs.

Like the idea of Bruts on Chase line. BB was winning indvidual battles at the end of the year and that is what is needed on that line. when I was at the dinner the other night I was amazed at how big Koudys was. looks like he can step in right away and help.

This is just my opinion, but if Helfrich is healthy, he will replace D'Amigo and may even make us forget what Jerry brought to Troy.
I really think that he was affected by his ankle and the back seat he had to take to Jerry and Pirri.
He will be counted on more this year and I believe that he has the talent to provide the results.
It all comes down to his attitude. If he comes in ready to play, we will have the replacement we need.

EHF agree completely-to my eye he was just not the same physically. Recovery from ankle injuries are extremely hard to predict. Some times a broken ankle is actually a blessing compared to ligament damage. Here's hoping he is finally back to 100% since I really would love to see him on a line with Polacek. I hope to see a full year of a healthy Helfrich and a healthy Bergin.

I agree he looked like he was nicked up for a lot of the year. IIRC, he was a healthy scratch at least once down the stretch, which to me means Seth wasn't groovin' on what Tyler was doing in practice. He's is a senior now a nobody's gonna hold his hand, he needs to take the binky out of his mouth, grab his lunch pail and leave it all out there on every shift. If not, he'll be holding a clipboard on game night. :D

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

great points EHF and DrD, I think the point about Jerry and TH is a good one. A player of JDA caliber takes up alot of air in a lot of places, on the ice, opponents heads and sometimes teammates heads. No aspersions on either JDA or TH, that's sometimes how it plays out.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Got this from USHR:
He just finished up playing for the US in the Hlinka Tournament last week. If anything, its just a good reminder to know RPI is still battling it out with the big boys for these type players.

FWIW - Selman will be playing in Des Moines with Quinn.

I agree, and the same could be said for BP. Missing 4 team building outings in the last week. Wedding excuse or no, that's sure to go down hard with some of his teammates who are in Troy breaking their arses...on and off the ice.

I'm just trying to figure out when you and RC got so buddy buddy...:p

At the same time, I'm still trying to figure out what caused the two of you to get on each other's nerves.

For me, I think it was when RC started helping with me becoming a better poster on here (the messages are subtle, but if you can read between the lines, they're very understandable), and so the respect is there, at least from my end. Sure we have our disagreements, but I try not to bring them to the table unless I'm really sure I can back them up.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

I haven't interjected myself into this squabble that has been taking place because I respect everyone involved and haven't wanted to pi** both sides off but I feel compelled now. Everyone has a great take on this board and sometimes we may rile each other w something posted. We share alot in common like supporting SA and our love of the program. We should move on now because this is counterproductive. One thing I noticed when I read Ed's column today is that I think he reads this board and took large snippets of what we have been writing about JDA situation and incorporated it in his piece. To me that is cool. We keep each other informed and in the loop which is awesome.I am guilty of trying to get under people's skin as the next poster. I love to try and get a rise out of RB but he never bites. Why I'm going all Oprah on you guys is that we have more that unites us than divides us. I suggest that we agree to disagree and move on. I leave you with the 9th commandment from the First Church

Thou shalt not bicker with thy fellow fans

BTW - we're really ******ed when I'm the peacemaker on the board :D
