Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

babo,
Do you know when Dubuque's first exhibition game is? I know that they start the regular season on 10/01.

Code:
2011
Jacob Laliberté C Cornwall Colts (CHL) 0- 0- 0- 0- 0 08/26/10
Nick Quinn LD Des Moines Buccaneers (USHL) 0- 0- 0- 0- 0 09/17/10
Luke Curadi LD Dubuque Fighting Saints (USHL) 0- 0- 0- 0- 0 xx/xx/10

Sorry...either Sep. 10 or 16...that's straight from my talented and gifted child  (I will find out definitively tomorrow and let you know)

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

I am leaning to not having a separate recuit thread this year. Does anyone have an opinion one way or the other on this?

I enjoy two threads as stated before by Ralph it makes it easier to look up info on a recruit. Either way keep up the good work Ralph and lets get this season underway already haha.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

most moms of players would agree that SA is a bit easy on the eyes...

Hey whatever Coach needs to do within NCAA rules to get players to come to RPI I say do it.

I'd prefer a separate recruit thread.

I mean no disrespect to those who are really interested in knowing everything possible about any high school or junior players that the RPI coaching staff might have their eyes on. Personally, I just can't get that excited about them, knowing that there is always the possibility that any one of them could turn out to be the next Huxley.

I'd prefer to be able to follow the current season's thread without having to wade through numerous posts about recruits.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Count me as another vote for a separate thread. I think it'll make the conversations about each topic not get lost amongst the other posts.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

My vote is for separate threads...I love being able to jump into the page and quickly see what the recruits did the night before. When the RS rolls around the recruit stuff will be buried in with game week chatter...anyway, that's my two cents

TeAm had a nice bonding weekend up north. Still no pirri now I'm worried :(

I prefer separate threads - each is focused rather than schizophrenically trying to fit everything into one stream.

One massive facepalm to everyone for worrying about this.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Today is 16 August 2010. There are 53 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 8 October for the start of next season.

It looks like most posters would prefer a separate recruit thread. How about

RPI 2011 Recruit Thread: The Search for the Next Jerry D'Amigo

RB: Why do we need a special title for the recruit thread? Why not just RPI 2011 Recruit Thread: Part I? We could save all the cute titles for the in season threads (I suspect there will be many).

Given potential circumstances behind the thought of this, I think we can do better.

In the past I was one for unadorned titles, but I will go with the flow for this also.

No doubt we can do better. Are you referring to JD'A being one-and-done? That wasn't what I was referring to, although I can see that it could be interpreted that way.

You hit the nail on the head twice; one for why I don't feel this is the best title, and two for me not giving you the horns, as I assumed you had meant that we are getting first class recruits under Coach Appert. It could be interpreted either way.

Perhaps some witty tribute to the B.R.O. is in order for the first thread title?
