Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

I just wanted to start practicing saying Johnny Rocket:D

Just a small pick me up for all of us in light of JD'A.

Johnny Rocket scoring overtime goal. I believe the Great One (RC) was the first to have this on WaP. Go to the 1:20 mark of clip.

This kid has got jets. If you notice he loses his edge while flying by defense and still manages to deke the goalie. I hope to the Dear Lord that I can go to the Northeastern game. Should start working on the Mrs. for a kitchen pass now. I'm jonesing for some Engineer Hockey.

I think that I posted this before WaP. I also recall that someone later posted a higher resolution version of this. In any case, I don't grow tired of this. As you pointed out, he lost an edge, but he quickly recovered.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

not about RPI but another one bites the dust.

From USCHO twitter : " Notre Dame loses another player as incoming freshman defenseman Jarred Tinordi signs with the OHL's London Knights."

Are we surprised that the Mothership (USCHO) has not reported on Jerry?. Just sayin'

This trend makes WaP Op-ed about recruiting prophetic. Looks like there may be developing new paradigm. We got the right guy (SA) to navigate this new norm.

Good thing that we didn't get Jarred Tinordi. :)

USCHO is quite slow, especially in the summer. They post something if it happens.

Turns out we may have gotten the more valuable Tinordi-well at least more valuable in the NCAA;)

Good work on the pictorial...the daylight really changes the feel of the joint. As for they lighting, its possible that they upgraded to new bulbs and ballasts in the existing fixtures...just a guess.

Actually, I believe the lighting work remains to be done. From what I was told, the lights and sound system have yet to be updated before the season starts.

Never liked him. :D

I would have liked him more if he got drafted by the NY Rangers;) Still feel he should have come join his brother and get a good education. Having seen his interview after drafted by Montreal, he could have used it.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Recalling our old friend Al Abel, I gave the Toronto Globe and Mail sports website a quick scan... all quiet. They had stories on signing large and small for all NHL teams, including a special focus on Canada's teams, but not a word on JDA. Then again, nothing official has happened yet.

WS- 'location: between the pipes?' Are you a goalie, too?

I found this quote, when browsing through the article. Granted, it's a translation of a translation, but... hope?

"At the end of last season I thought that D'Amigo will remain in his college team, the situation has not changed," said general manager Brian Burke.

FWIW, it seems that this quote was made directly to the author, because all of the other quotes in the piece also stated their source (the Record or the Gazette).

You might want to run THAT sentence by your grammar school teacher.... :p

I don't think she could read it now;) But I would take any help I could get. If you think my grammar is bad, you should see my handwriting.

B12 - Now that is dedication. Great job Sir. I only wish that Dr. Baer had not been so quick to dismiss my posting :p

Official. Per Ken Schott.

https://www.dailygazette.com/weblogs/schott/2010/aug/11/maple-leafs-signs-damigo/

The Toronto Maple Leafs have just announced they have signed RPI forward Jerry D'Amigo to a three-year contract.

We've been very pleased with Jerry's progression over the past 12 months," Maple Leafs general manager Brian Burke said in a statement. "[RPI coach] Seth Appert and the rest of the coaching staff have done a really nice job of preparing Jerry for the next stage in his development. We look forward to having him at training camp."

More on this later.
