Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Earlier we had 37 people looking at this thread at once. Combine that with 106 posts yesterday, probably at least 80 or so thus far today (EDIT: 89 as of this post), I think we ARE going to shatter a few records. USCHO Hall of Fame material, or should I just play the fail horns on that now? ;)

After a night to ponder all this I have come to the conclusion that we will be fine without JDA or BP for that matter. It will affect or record because they are game changers but I in no way think this is a major setback. We have a deep and talented player pool and will be just fine. Are we a better team w/those guys...ABSOLUTLY....are we a mediocre team without those guys...ABSOLUTLY NOT.....would it be nice to be in a tie game w/less than a minute on the clock would I like to be able to roll out JDA/Pirri and Polachek.. yea it sure would. So wouldn"t every other coach in the ECAC.My hope is SA brings in 2 players a year that may leave for the NHL every year...when that happens WE HAVE ARRIVED !!!!!!!!!

One would be a Junior and the other one a Freshman but could there names be Saponari and dare I utter the name ... JL

Think about internet traffic, RC, do you get stats each day on how many people visit WaP? If so, I'd be interested when the day is over in how many you got today compared with a normal day. Normally the last ten visitors seem to cover two or three hours. Today it seems to be under 30 minutes. (Of course, I have looked quite often. :D )

Do not utter the name JL...besides he is probably getting ready for another massive goal scoring campaign up there in Cornwall. Repeat after me, Big Fish Small Pond.

An article in today's Kitchener-Waterloo Record which I don't think has been posted here yet http://news.therecord.com/Sports/article/759456. A different one was posted yesterday.

Pretty much the same story I posted here last evening. somewhere around page 7. Jerry has been told by the Leafs to not talk to this reporter so who knows how he got these quotes. Unless he used some from an earlier story.

Good to know. You must admit that the obligatory Adios D'Amigo thing was somewhat amusing though

Bleacher Report is an Internet-wide guide on how to copy/paste stories from other sites and slap your name on it or how to write belligerent nonsense and call yourself an "accomplished writer."

In short: It sucks.

Roger Wyland reports to have spoken with SA who told him JD'A is very close to signing & that it looks like it's one & done for Jerry at RPI

Its the price every school has to pay when it brings in top talent.
Jerry keeps saying that if he signs, it will be to play with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
I don't think he will be playing for that team next year. But at this point, it doesn't look like he will be playing for RPI next year either.
Life will go on, and we will make the best of it.
I will still go to as many games as I can and I will still be rooting for the Engineers.
While we would be better with him, we will not be so bad without him.

LETS GO RED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Glad you're recovering from your long night...:D Did you ask anyone where they heck BP is?

I'm starting to really regret not posting until now about the Golf Outing until now. Pages and pages of hyperventilating into a paper bag about BP. I also noticed Brandon was missing from the festivities last night. JFK decided to sit with the First Church for dinner, so I asked him where he was. Apparently, there was a wedding on his mom's side (forget the exact relationship, but I do remember "wedding" and "Mom") that he was attending.

I found out about Jerry through a fellow parishioner who met us for the dinner portion. While it put a little damper on the evening for us, the team is very upbeat about this year, and they all looked to be in good shape.

We asked Coach about Black Saturday, and I have to say it made me laugh. This year was Union's choice of which game should be Friday for the home/home series. He figures they picked Friday and thought "Hey this way we get out of playing them on Black Friday." Appert then said "Screw them, we'll make it Black Saturday."

Glad to hear that BP is still in the fold. Wasn't exactly unfounded angst re: his absence, given what was transpiring that very day with Jerry.

I don't particularly care what Seth calls it, so long as he beats Union.

You know, I've missed a game or two (or three) over the years because I've been witnessing a marriage. I tend to believe what good parishioners tell me. :)

Wishing JDA well, although signs may well point to his turning pro, I'm not quite sure he's gone yet. Sounds like some talking and negotiating are still going on... and that's never in plain sight. To leave, he should get the kind of contract and money that's right. And if not, well, I can think of a local team who would welcome him back. ;)

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Went to the Valleycats baseball game tonight. Got there right at the end of opening ceremonies. But most of the RPI team was there lined up along the third base line. Was in line with a few of our players old enough to enjoy the 2 for 1 beer night tonight. :D Good to see they took a night off to enjoy some baseball and get everyone in the Capital Region ready for hockey season.
