I couldn't help but notice that Brown signed a forward for this fall - Jimmy Siers -- who tallied 249 PIM in two seasons in the USHL. :D Wow - the B.R.O can't get here soon enough....we're gonna need him to show this guy what the glass tastes like...! :D

I have removed my fatwa against you

Babo, enlighten me. Is a fatwa sorta of like the bounty that Reggie Dunlop put on Tim McCraken in the slap shot movie?

__________________________________________________________________
Reggie Dunlop : I am personally placing a hundred-dollar bounty on the head of Tim McCracken. He's the head coach and chief punk on that Syracuse team.
Jim Carr: A bounty?
Reggie Dunlop: Yeah, a hundred bucks of my own money for the first of my guys who really nails that creep.

Goon hockey. Get used to it emanating from haughty section of Providence. They basically ARE the Syracuse Bulldogs.

Whoa! Easy there, slick. :p

Wow.... I haven't seen the board get THIS hostile since, well... the last troll showed his face here.

How many games is usually a season in the USHL, anyway? 249 PIM in 2 seasons is insane, especially for a forward. He must not know how to move his feet..... oh wait, that's perfect for the clutch and grab game.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-Season Thread IV -- It's Looking Like No "I-V" Is Necessary!

These lines are for those who start the game thread on the morning (must be after midnight ET) of each RPI hockey game. These threads are created in the "Score Threads" forum. Your record is then determined by RPI's success in said game.

As an example: I have started four threads: 2008-09 Harvard men (Black Friday), 2008-09 Harvard women (playoffs; this did not count towards the season but still shows up cumulatively), 2009-10 Sacred Heart (NC), 2009-10 Yale (away). In each case, RPI won the game, therefore I am 4-0-0.

You can see in the Score Threads area what our threads are like. Typically we will post during the game (mostly people who can't make it to the game, but sometimes a poster will use his/her laptop at the game), RB has an official "goal celebration", and other odds and ends pertaining to the game are discussed.

Thanks for taking time to explain. One more dumb question like that and I will have to forfeit my Rookie of the Year award

"Dumb questions" like those actually seal the award.

Today is 6 August 2010. There are 63 days (9 weeks) until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 8 October for the start of next season.

60 next season, if I counted correctly.

OK, here goes nothing:

RPI 2010 Off-Season Thread V: Houston, We've Had a Facelift

RPI 2010 Off-Season Thread V: Alienating 'tute fans one post at a time

...and allow me to start the season thread title suggestions off with a bang (or thud)

RPI 2011-12 Season Thread: Jersey Shore Or Bust - starring J-Wow, Snooki and Ralph "The Situation" Baer :D

I love these, WS! You outdid yourself...RB's gonna have a tough time choosing this time. I have not been able to come up with anything so I'll draft off yours...:D

Currently, WS first suggestion is the best IMO, although, like many others, it seems more appropriate for an in-season thread because Houston's facelift is not complete.

This is true. Although HFH will be in a condition worthy enough for practice capabilities on Labor Day (as noted earlier), there is no guarantee that everything will be done by that time. I am citing the last time renovations were done at HFH, granted that was when they were refurbishing the locker rooms, and since it was behind the scenes, they could get away with it during the NC games at the beginning of the season.

Maybe in-season 1 or 2?

RPI 2010 Off-Season Thread V -- Why are we still posting?!

RPI 2010 Off-Season Thread V -- JL: The Saga Continues

Although, perhaps one of the better ones (at least in my opinion), and since some of the players have moved in to begin captain's practices:
