Re: RPI 2010 Off-Season Thread II -- We Can Rebuild Them. We Have the Technology!

It all depends what was woven into the contract. If Seth asked that "dream job" schools X & Y be included in the contract language, then he could conceivably break the contract to leave for a post at those schools, should an offer come his way.

Generally speaking, I believe schools need permission to talk to coaches who are under contract....but others may well have better understanding of this.

Agreed. I'm sure if Gwoz left Denver, SA has written into contract that he could talk to Denver. I'm sure his alma mater (Ferris State) is also on the list, Miami, etc. Bottom line, although I'm a Seth guy he has to win more than he has. Granted Fridge left the cupboard bare for SA (bulk of losing), he would need to build resume more than present. ECAC title, a couple of at large bids, etc to land one of those jobs IMO. We need to remember that RPI is one of only 20 or so schools that spend 1 million dollars on hockey program, so this is a top job. Again, great news. I think we have Seth for awhile. Probably almost as long as Wicked Slappahs has been argumentative on these threads. And yes WS, you are right, Knowlton was the guy who put it together, not Shirley. A long way from the years when Ducatte was sabotaging Adessa.

Asspee, I am completely confused by this comment??? Please explain what you are talking about and what proof do you have to make a statement like this. Ducatte was a huge supporter of the big guy and in his corner! You might want to get your facts straight before postiing wacky horse manure.

You'll have to excuse him, he was disoriented after accusing me of being argumentative...:D

Long story but Addesa wanted to take program to another level. Rebuild HFH go to Hockey East. Addesa made many mistakes as we all know but it is true he wanted to do these things and roadblocks were put up by admin and ad office. Of course he should have been fired for his remarks. I think I am off topic. Let's not take away from good news. Fire away WS

Where did you get those figures from? While I would like to think that RPI is in about the top third of all schools based on spending for hockey, I doubt that it is true.

Two Record articles:

SA's extension http://www.troyrecord.com/articles/2010/04/22/sports/doc4bcfdeb51ae89306094089.txt.

Montgomery is really leaving http://www.troyrecord.com/articles/2010/04/22/sports/doc4bcfdf829df53853108255.txt.

From the first article “It signifies to recruits that when they commit to us, that their parents and their young men can be assured that we will be the only ones coaching them.”

SK - while calling me asspeee maybe funny (to a juvenile) my name is based on the fact that my son has a form of autism called aspergers. Parents of these children use the word aspy to sometimes refer to them. Hence ASPYDAD. So while you think it is funny -- I do not. I would prefer RC term bedwetter:D to describe some of my ramblings.
