-New Defensive recruit (but as of yet uncommitted), Bo Dolan, from Penticton (we can do the swim afterall!). Impressive stats considering he has 2/3 of the GP compared to the rest of the team.

That name sounds familiar. :D Dolan missed a good chunk of games with a broken leg, but did return for the late season and the playoffs.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-Season Thread II -- We Can Rebuild Them. We Have the Technology!

That article makes it sound like Appert said to Laliberte "don't call us, we'll call you". Then again, it might just be a situation of "You're fired ... well you can't fire me because I quit."

Either way, it effing sucks. :(

P.S. props to Weaver on a good article
Just for clarity sake, I would point out that Appert is not quoted in the piece.

Ed is also a Conservative :D
I was trying to figure out the relevance on this but then it came to me. Nothing has actually changed. Ed is just trying to keep our borders secure and he hopes that by spreading wild rumors he can reduce the influx of foreigners.

While I certainly see the logic to that, most people do eventually mature. JL has the ability to be an important piece of the puzzle at RPI, so I won't give up on him coming until he does something to lose his eligibility. It's too bad that he probably won't join Montgomery in Dubuque (BTW, originally founded by the French) since the USHL is probably the only place that he could develop on the Junior level and remain eligible.
Agreed Ralph. Its not happy news, but I am glad that the soap opera has ended. If Jacob decides that D1 is for him, Doc and I will gladly hold the "Welcome Jacob" banner in the fall of '11, should he decide to join the fight in Troy. :p

Overage Canadians are ruining our game!!!11!eleventy-one!

But, yea, I don't see any immediate relevance either.

Brock Higgs will be playing on the Black Aces Red Team in the Chowder Cup Pre-Draft Showcase starting tomorrow http://stats.proamhockey.com/stats/roster.php?step=&sub=&season_id=31&team_id=1026

Schedule http://stats.proamhockey.com/stats/schedule.php?date=2010-05-07

The only other player whom I noticed with a connection to RPI is Terrence Wallin. We lost him to UML.

Good catch RB...I did see a few names that got my attention including Drury and Spezza... :D

Been following the thread along with everyone else-the JL saga just continues. No question he is supremely talented and a true scoring threat. Would love to have him in Troy-but problems keep surfacing. Better we find out what we are getting before hand and if it turns out he is a problem child-then we aren't losing anything. I am just hoping for an improved team next year so Jen and I get to see our boys down here in AC:)

Today is 7 May 2010. There are 154 days (22 weeks) until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 8 October for the start of next season.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-Season Thread II -- We Can Rebuild Them. We Have the Technology!

Good article by Ed Weaver about the recruits (and non-recruits) including comments by SA http://troyrecord.com/articles/2010/05/07/sports/doc4be3a40207fca341946820.txt.

Who is this Guy Quinn? ;)

If Weaver's got Appert actually commenting on Bo Dolan I'd say we can put his name down in ink that he's coming here. It also seems that Guy Leboeuf is going to be a bit of a work in progress as well. It's nice to get confirmation that Beauregard moves to the blue line as well. It also confirms that Brutlag will stay at forward as well.

I guess I don't understand the rules. I thought that SA couldn't comment on Dolan if he hasn't committed.

BTW, was that Earl Weaver? ;)

I'm guessing that "Bo" is a nickname. There's a first-year Dolan listed in the directory (not saying the full name due to privacy purposes), but given the major, I would become extremely giddy inside if it were him. Though Beauregard's choice of major already fulfills this need.

I wondered about him but decided that he wasn't Bo due to the name and major. He also is apparently an incoming freshman since his website only showed up on 4/6/10.
