Re: RPI 2010 Off-Season Thread II -- We Can Rebuild Them. We Have the Technology!

When students register, and will end up in the directory. I can't remember if it's May 1st or June 1st, but I believe it's the case... at least from what I can remember when I applied.

The usual process has the student receiving their decision from the school on April 1st and they must submit their response, with housing form, Student Orientation choice, etc. by May 1st, at the latest. However, there are always exceptions to this rule, and I'm sure that athletes are one of them.

Besides, who said that you would be entered into the directory immediately after they get your response?

Name: Logonaimanufaal Anne Letuligasenoa
Class: First-Year Student
Curriculum: Communication

That answers a question. It looks like there is a 15-letter limit on first names. :)

or six syllables....... I wish more of our opponents broadcast their women's games. I would get a perverse pleasure hearing their announcers try to keep up with the play while pronouncing Letuligasenoa. I don't think it will be a big problem for our guys. If it's as phonetic as it appears, it gets easier each time you say it.

I'm taking a guess here and saying that "Nona" will be the preferred call of her name.

I believe all the ECAC schools do broadcast their women's hockey games. You just have to frequently be willing to cough up the cash to get the video stream online if you want it. Having watched many of said teams' broadcasts this past season, I can say it would be fun to see how they did...needless to say schools do not always have their top radio talent broadcasting women's hockey.

Probably true, although I'm sure the last name will be practiced before broadcasts.

Maybe she'll be like these one named soccer stars and just have "Nona" on the back of her sweater.

Although I have been unable to find a link showing the back of her hockey jersey, there is a picture on line that I have linked showing "Letuligasenoa" on the back of her softball uniform.

BTW, does anyone know what the ethnicity of her name is?

Another poster on the BCHL message board is claiming what we were already speculating, that Nolan Graham is leaving Alberni Valley to be new assistant coach at RPI. I guess we will find out for sure tomorrow, if its true welcome back to RPI Nolan!

he is off to be an assistant coach at RPI - Good Luck Nolan

If it's true welcome back to RPI Nolan!

Your speculation is indeed correct and true. Congratulations to Nolan on this opportunity. He will be a terrific assistant coach, coming back to a program which had a hand in shaping his values, work ethic, and philosophy. Good choice by Seth and good luck Nolan!

I was actually thinking, given she's from Alaska, that it MIGHT be a native name.

Actually, that sounds like it might be right. Inuit and Eskimo-Aleut are similar to some Pacific languages.
