Once again, the Great One (RC) with a highly informative post on WaP. His assessment of JL saga is spot on. I’m sure SA has shared w/ JL that a path to the show runs through Troy. I know that some will hop on me and tell me about the grade issue but I believe that the culture/language issue is the main road block. Also, RC is right about the need for another Defenseman (RB also has raised this issue). Again, I would not be surprised to see a big D-Man from Western Canada (from Nolan’s neck of the woods) be that recruit. RC, u the man!!!!

None of us have any idea what the actual hangup is with JL...we just write what we think...you can call it hopping on if you choose. You think it's language, some think it is the SAT/grades. I happen to think it's both ....

The issues for JL enrolling at RPI (language, academics, socialization) are all related, very related...just ask Joe Juneau.

Good work as always RC. I would add that the concern I have with JL as a pro (or as a collegian for that matter) is more about his weight than his height. The boy is seriously skinny...175 is optimistic...far skinnier than Pirri and several inches shorter. Gionta and St. Louis while small in height, are deceptively strong for their size...especially in the lower body.

Not saying JL can't get there, just sayin' he needs to be living in the weight room.

So do u think he is coming?

As Ralph will tell you, I gave up handicapping the JL sweepstakes a while back... :p

I used to think it was 50-50...but Rogic's appearance has me scratching my head. Although I suppose it's possible that one of our lesser used forwards may not return to the squad.

It is also certainly possible that JL is awaiting word from the NCAA clearinghouse, which might explain why he hasn't appeared in the locator...

OK I'm stopping now before RC facepalms me.

Today is 5 May 2010. There are 156 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 8 October for the start of next season.

Cutoff for what?

When students register, and will end up in the directory. I can't remember if it's May 1st or June 1st, but I believe it's the case... at least from what I can remember when I applied.

Could be worse, you could be at the point where he head-desks you. ;)

Nothing new from the directories as of yet. I think the cutoff is around June 1st, nae?

Well. you're getting awful close to a headdesk yourself there, dude.

I am too lazy to look back in past years to when recruits show up in the directory, but I suspect that they make exceptions for hockey players. We are also still missing two of the known women's recruits, Mankey and <s>Letulig</s> Nona. ;)

For you or myself? I am starting to get a good indent there.

Ralph, I highly doubt they will put "Nona" in the directory, you may actually have to type out Letuligasenoa.

I was kidding. :) I have been checking on her status using a wildcard after the first few letters. Actually, if she does use Nona as her given name, she will show up on a search that way.

BTW, there have been several recent stoies about her HS softball team in the local newspaper. She plays catcher and has been hitting home runs and throwing out baserunners. Of course, as a scholarship athlete at a D-III school she won't be able to play another sport.
