RPI 2010-11 season

Re: RPI 2010-11 season

Kendra did play tonight according to the live stats feed. She had a power play goal.

Meant to hit this point last night but forgot - Kendra played the whole game and looked good doing so (although she was on the ice for all three UVM goals against, they were more the result of defensive lapses). I didn't see anything to indicate there was any lingering injury problem, so hopefully whatever the injury was is planted firmly in the rearview mirror.

Re: RPI 2010-11 season

RPI-UVM tied at 1, end of the 2nd.

Looks as if no one wants to make a mistake. Most of the play in the neutral zone for both periods.

Re: RPI 2010-11 season

Is B2 better today? I noticed they made some adjustments to the encoder remotely before the broadcast of today's game.

If it's an RPI TV game and there's trouble with B2, you can reach us quickly at sports@rpitv.org if there's anything wrong.

Re: RPI 2010-11 season

The picture quality was as good as we've ever seen. I could not complain about anything!

The interesting thing is that I got the feed today without any changes to the computer from last night. I guess it really was my computer that was the problem.:D

Re: RPI 2010-11 season

Same with me. No changes to my computer and everthing was fine for last nights game.
Thanks for your feedback. I don't feel so computer illiterate.

Re: RPI 2010-11 season

Good thing I didn't buy B2, as I don't meet their requirements. Funny thing is that RPI-TV's direct streams worked with Firefox and Linux...

Re: RPI 2010-11 season

The weekly WaP podcast is tonight at 8pm.

We are also pleased to have joining us this week women's hockey pioneer Cindy Acropolis on the occasion of her induction into the RPI Athletics Hall of Fame. Cindy will be on the program at about 8:30.

Re: RPI 2010-11 season

At the end of the first period, RPI 2 NH 1. Shots are 11-6 for RPI.

AmericaOne (B2) is up and running tonight.

Re: RPI 2010-11 season

Beyond the Dashers shows a second recruit for RPI for next year Eleeza of St. Catherines ON. It states that plays forward for Ridley College and the Toronto Jr. Aeros (same team as Brianna Piper). She does not appear on the Jr. Aero's roster either here http://www.torontoaeros.com/JuniorAeros/junior_roster.html or http://pwhl3.stats.pointstreak.com/teamplayerstats.html?teamid=201972. She does appear on Ridley's Roster which can be reached from http://www.ridleycollege.com/podium/default.aspx?t=125416.

Looking through summaries that are fragmentary, she is at least 5-7-2-9. For four addtiional games there is no data, and only goals are mentioned for 4 of the 5 games.

A lot of the Google results show Eleeza Cox having numerous multigoal games for Ridley the last several years.

She was named to the All Star team for the Woman's Chowder Cup (A Division) playing for a team called East Enders. http://www.proamhockey.com/
rounds 3-4-1-5-0
playoffs 3-1-1-2-0

The roster there says that she is an LC 5'6" 145 lb born 9/9/93 and does play for both Ridley College and the Jr Aeros. (Of course, we all remember the team that Jacob Laliberte was listed as playing for in 2009. :D )

She is in the Toronto Jr. Aeros media guide http://www.torontoaeros.com/JuniorAeros/Resources/AerosWebGuide1011.pdf, but it doesn't appear that she is playing for them.

From the media guide and not formatted:
Graduation Year: 2011 Shoots Left
Birth Year: 1993 Height: 5’ 5”
Home Town: Previous Team:
Aurora on Ridley College
School: Ridley College, Grade 12
Academic Interest: Business, Psychology
Hobbies: Soccer, Basketball, Horseback riding, Golf
Key Achievements: Ridley College Hockey MVP 09-10,
08-09; Captain and MVP Varsity Basketball 09-10;
Youngest ever Assistant Captain at Ridley College,
Assistant Captain 09-10, 08-09; Hockey and Soccer Rookie
of the Year 07-08; Athlete of the Year 06-07
Favourite Quotation:
The name of the front of your jersey is a lot more
important than the one on the back.
Herb Brooks
Conceivably, she will play of the Aeros after Ridley's season ends.

Re: RPI 2010-11 season

First win of the season was a great one in a comeback over PC! From top to bottom the team looked the best they've been all season and it looked like things finally clicked and the whole group was firing on all cylinders in the 3rd period and OT. Hopefully they can carry that momentum over into tomorrow's game against Northeastern and have a win-streak going at the start of ECAC play

Re: RPI 2010-11 season

The Engineers pretty much dominated Yale from start to finish tonight. Other than a few isolated instances, they controlled the play to defeat a young Yale team (it appeared the Bulldogs' best line this evening was 3 freshmen) 4-1 while outshooting their hosts by a ratio of 2:1. Jordan Smelker recorded a hat trick and Sydney O'Keefe also added a goal. Sonja van der Bliek was solid and should have recorded a shutout, but lost it in the third period when a backhand from near the blue line was accidentally tipped by Andie Le Donne over her shoulder.

My concern with this team was whether they could replace last year's strong senior class. They've got a way to go, but the freshmen looked good. Smelker scored goals three different ways - a wrist shot from the right wing circle to the far top corner; crashing the net to put home a rebound that trickled across the goal mouth; and on a clean break from the blue line in which she deked the goaltender down and pulled the puck to her backhand to tuck it into the open side. Toni Sanders didn't show up on the score sheet but she moves well out there and may mature into a goal scorer as her career evolves. Madison Marzario, who is stepping into Laura Gersten's slot on the blue line, looked solid.

Perhaps best of all, a number of the upper classmen seemed to have stepped up their games. Yale is hardly the biggest test in the league, but they were playing an emotional game in tribute to Mandi Schwartz in front of a good-sized crowd, so it was a good early season challenge and the women came through with flying colors.

Thanks for the insight - glad to get a take on the game from someone who was there. Looked like an excellent second period from checking the live stats on my phone in Schenectady.
