Interesting. My daughter graduated from PA a couple of years ago. I don't think the girls hockey program is one of their stronger sports, but they did send a goalie on scholarship to BU from my daughter's class so there are some talented players. Welcome aboard Mariana.

I looked at PA's girl's hockey page, and they indeed weren't good. There are only random game summaries, but Walsh is clearly one of their better players. Similarly, I couldn't find anything remotely like complete stats for Assabet Valley. She apparently played forward at PA and defense at AV.

It's good to see that the women's team will have a little more depth next season.

Edit: Walsh is apparently 18 in white. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KcYlquPLJGo

Edit: Come to think of it, my cousin, whose daughter played for Phillips Exeter this year, mentioned that they defeated Phillips Andover at the end of the season.

You shouldn't mention that. Andover-Exeter is a huge rivalry (Go Big Blue!) so I'm sure Mariana wanted to win that one badly.

I wonder if Coach Burke will know what to do when he looks down the bench in late January and sees a full lineup. It always seemed by then he was running out 4-5 defensemen or was short a body or two on the front line.

Mariana is a very good player and a better person, who will contribute to the success of the RPI Team. She has the size, skill and deterimination to be successful at the Division 1 level.

Thanks for the link. Appears (from the PA video) a scoreless tie?

Actually, I had to watch again to see if I can see myself behind the glass (yup) ... but since you were kind enough to post the link, and I was able to see my daughter (in red) I'll refrain from posting the score.

Go Big Red!

Since in all other cases red (more specifically, cherry) is the favorite color of this thread I'll let that go..........
