Where are you seeing 3? Collegehockeystats gives him 4...

This team is fun to watch. Congratulations to Rogic-Burgdoefer-Koudys for their first goals. Polacek was on fire last night and tonight. Congrats to him on his 4 assists. I thought he might have had one on Rogic's goal also. Big test coming up with BU next Saturday! Fun team to watch. Never feel safe though until the final horn :).

Alas... they only give 2 assists per goal.

...a little confused...how am I thin skinned? I didn't go on Yale's site and whine about your team tossing our salad...I played sports and tip my cap to any opponent who deserves it; so you can get off the self aggrandizement about your sportsmanship...I do take umbrage with your depiction of our coach...he's got the "send to the NHL ASAP" stamp on his forehead so I can understand your inability to comprehend a big boy style of play. I don't go to your thread and B***h like a little girl...not my style...butt into our conversation with accusations that are unfounded and I have every right to respond.

I actually enjoy this thread and wish Yale fans were as intense about hockey as you guys. I just don't understand why even you rabid RPI fans can't see that your penalties are your undoing. The Coach may be great, but even he complained about his guys not staying out of the box yesterday. If they keep the hands of the masks and stop hitting after the whistle they avoid what this whole thread is about, whining about the refs every week. The coach needs to instill that discipline in his team.

Nice win tonight, Brown is a good team.

The officials are a tight group. If you attack one ECAC group of refs you attack them all. The cherry and red can’t expect to fly around the ice in the third period with impunity. If anything they need to be extra careful. On ice officials are like elephants they don’t forget.

And is that their job? Last I knew, it was calling the game they see it, not the way they want to see it. I wonder if they know that... Considering the extensive hockey background of a majority of the ECAC officials, I know the officials have a good understanding of what the players expect from them.

As a fan (albeit, a biased one, hence "fanatic"), all I want is the players to decide the outcome of a game, not the officials.

Re: RPI 2010-11 Part II: RPI, the Other Team, the Refs -- We're outnumbered 10 to 6.

The killer was the one on Bailen that set us on the 3 on 5; in my view this was a fantasy call by the trailing ref. I agree with everything Troyboy and AsyDad said on the subject. It was the kind of call you would expect for a 'make-up' but for the wrong team. And as Troyboy pointed out, there was a similar situation just after that was not called. Bah Humbug.

• Yale, IMHO, is much more guilty of 'simulation' as they call it in futball. What LTsatch is calling 'dirty' I call 'finishing your check'; it was clear that Yale doesn't like the more physical side of the game.

Agree completely...they have to get that secong guy off the ice...especially with these guys here who think their job is to get their quota in, a common error in law enforcement...are 28 minutes of penalties out of a 60 minute game (game against Brown) really necessary? That's why you get ECAC teams who solely have a power play and the ECAC never makes it deep into the NCAA tournament. They're used to relying on special teams situations.

Second bullet...absolutely

This is moronic. A, I don't see anyone saying that penalties weren't the team's undoing on Friday. The game-winner was scored 5x3, and at even strength, your team lost on the scoreboard. That's just there for everyone to see in black and white. B, penalties aren't always about the coach, and given your extremely limited understanding of this team - as partially evidenced by trying to pass off the ALBANY Times-Union as our "hometown" paper - you probably shouldn't go there. Where you lack knowledge, you also lack tact.

You better wake up early in the morning to try and school fans around these parts, son. Get off the stage.

Ed Weaver in RPI's "hometown" paper about the Brown game http://www.troyrecord.com/articles/...4cfb1f85af6be870534184.txt?viewmode=fullstory.

Article from the from the paper of the town downstream http://www.timesunion.com/sports/article/Engineers-take-over-861216.php.

High praise from the opposing coach for York. I knew he was good, but to hear that from an opponent makes me think he is even better. :)

I had thought it was 4 assists-nice night for him. This team has done something that i haven't felt for a long time-they have made it so that the game isn't over until the final horn. They play full out for the entire game. Sure they have their lapses (middle third of the last period yesterday got a little tense) but there is no quit in this team. Shorthanded, hurt, tired-it doesn't matter. This team has something we have lacked ofr a time-HEART. No one is going to come away from a game against us without knowing they have been in a battle. Oh am i eve getting flashbacks to the 60's and the 80's again. Earlier in the season i predicted 21 wins for this team (and I thought that was optimistic) -right now Ai am sure I underestimated.:)

"One guy in particular who came to my mind -- and it wasn't because of his goal but because of his effort on the penalty kill -- was Johnny Rogic," Appert said. "I thought he had a really strong weekend. He centered a third line that played big minutes."

I am really glad for Johnny. JR has special speed. Well... like a rocket. He and Patty Cullen have been working their tails off. If you notice Patty had two helpers last night.

I have been high on Rogic ever since Red Cloud brought to light that famous youtube video:).

Appert's quotes about Rogic tell a pretty big story IMO - we as a team very frequently go to a short bench and sometimes roll just 2 lines in tough or close games. The fact that SA had Rogic's 3rd line out matching up against Brown's top line all night shows what kind of faith the coach is developing in his supporting players. If we are a team that is going to make noise nationally, we are going to need to depend on 3+ lines to do so.
