Re: RPI 2010-11 Part II: RPI, the Other Team, the Refs -- We're outnumbered 10 to 6.

I do agree - gotta score to win. Given everything else this year (loss of JDA, BP, Red Cloud :), and JL not arriving), to say that we are basically 1 goal a game away from the NCAAs is huge. Still a young team - ton of potential this year but the next few are really going to be fun !!

The defense could be solid for years to come-if no one bolts to the pros-the offense will sorely need to replace Chase and Tyler next year. I suspect JL and Neal will be more than adequate offense. It looks good for Troy for the near future.

Just posted about it this morning. Koudys is a B and Higgs a C. http://centralscouting.nhl.com/link...14/$FILE/NCAA PlayersTo Watch - Fall 2010.pdf. Koudys is the only B in the ECAC.

Now to post on the recruit thread.

Edit: It's just a guess, but I think the asterisk to right of Koudys' weight indicates that he participated in that camp over the summer.

Seth Appert has received a 1-game suspension (to be served during the UConn game) for last Friday's postgame actions. Fu** you, Steve Hagwell

Official Release: http://www.ecachockey.com/men/2010-11/News/Suspension_Coach_Appert.pdf
Props to Appert for standing up for his kids and making a statement. I would've done the same thing. But, the suspension is deserved. (There, AD, I reworded what I attempted to say on Saturday. Does it read better now?)

How about they suspend the referees that made that terrible call, but that would go a long way towards having more consistent refereeing. We wouldn't want that, would we?

In all honesty, ECAC leadership is a joke, but being a zebra is tough ****.

While the ECAC front office is a laughing stock which we all recognize, at least give props to Hagwell for delaying the suspension until a game that doesn't matter. If it had been effective for Saturday's Union game there would have been riots in the streets of Troy.

Ken Schott updated his blog with a quote from Appert regarding the suspension:

Ken Schott said:
"I respect it," Appert said. "I respect commissioner Hagwell. I respect (ECACH director of officiating) Paul Stewart and our officiating body very much. But I don't think it's a suspendable offense."

So he was suspended for "conduct and ethics" good to know that showing a video of a questionable call and asking the media to look into it is unethical but Leman whining about penalties in Saturday's game is A-OK with the ********* bums at ECAC HQ. It's not like he punched Hicks like most of the RPI crowd at Friday's game wanted.

Remember folks according the ECAC whining is OK legitimate evidence based questioning is wrong. Seems to go a bit against science and engineering doesn't it.

IIRC Big Mike at Cornell got suspended after the first game of the playoffs which we won-Cornell came back to win the next two games. Let us hope that the suspension of SA has similar results. I keep gaining more and more respect for our coach. He says his piece-and he backs up his talk with action. Regardless of how the team does-this program is in good hands.

I wonder which of the ACs will be behind the bench.

Or will JFK coach? :D

Interesting thought-I hope SA will not be missed-we need to win this tournament for a change

I can`t say that I am shocked by the suspension.Their was somewhat of a precedent with Schaefer getting booted for having a sit down with some of the press and bashing the calls in the playoff series with us 2 years ago.I think that Appert just kind of snapped as RPI has been on the short end of a ton of no goal calls this year. From his tone on the radio pregame on saturday I have a feeling with a calmer head morning after regret was already setting in. Is it possible to change this tread title? I don`t think it makes us look too good as fans.

Apperts suspension got me thinking about an incident that happened at HFH many years ago. Don Cahoon was coaching Princeton and he felt his team was getting hosed by the stripes. He was very upset and Too get his point across he threw every spare stick on the bench out on the ice. Funniest coaching tantrum I ever saw. A few years back when Umass was at the field house he was heading back to the bench and I said to him as he walked by "Hey Don the refs seem fair tonight does this mean all the spare sticks will stay behind the bench. He looked at me with a huge grin.

Well, we did have Murphy and Kotyra for game 2....
