Re: RPI 2010-11: Houston, We've had a Facelift!

Any chance RPI makes another trip over to BU next year? They seem to be on the schedule more often then not.

Not sure. We visited Agganis last season, so this is their reciprocation. I'd like to think that they'll be on the schedule again, but there's no definite reason for that reasoning as of right now.

As an addendum to this point, BU has already allocated out 5 of their 7 non-conference games between the Beanpot, the GLI, and their MSG game against Cornell (I'm pretty sure that I heard that Red Hot Hockey was on a biannual basis and they played each other in Nov 09). This season, they completed their commitments to us and Harvard, and started a new series against Brown. Assuming that BU will be visiting Meehan next season, that only leaves one NC game for the Terriers.

Re: RPI 2010-11: Houston, We've had a Facelift!

The weekly WaP podcast is tonight at 8pm.

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/withoutapeer

Our first guest will be WRPI's Tim Heiman, and we'll talk to him about RPI's weekend in Colorado and the upcoming trip to Northeastern.

We are also pleased to have joining us this week women's hockey pioneer Cindy Acropolis on the occasion of her induction into the RPI Athletics Hall of Fame.

Unfortunately, Joe Paisley will not be able to join us this week and we apologize again to him and our listeners for the snafu we had in the lair last week. Those responsible have been sacked.

Mynd you, møøse bites Kan be pretty nasti... :D

But in all seriousness, though I don't usually get to listen live, I look forward to hearing the podcast.

Haven't seen Ralph on here, wonder if he suffered from withdrawl what with the boards being out for 12 hours. :p

Oops, I didn't see you on the other threads. Now if only I could find the smilies to remember how the embarrassed one works....

It's "colon" "o". You have to go to Advanced in the post window to see them.

Re: RPI 2010-11: Houston, We've had a Facelift!

Now this I like a lot!:)

Me too, but after three straight years of having one of the top recruit classes, we didn't make it this year, but it isn't surprising. SLU and Cornell did. I assume, however, that Bailen and Burgdoerfer didn't count.

I think that we are well on the way for next year.

Re: RPI 2010-11: Houston, We've had a Facelift!

I think all of us should take from Allen York's example. Koudys has barely done anything at all in college; he's played one out of 2 games. Hype is nice, but I will look to him to live up to the hype, have an amazing season, and hopefully grab himself that draft selection.

[hype] As I have said before, it wouldn't surprise me if Koudys will be RPI's highest ever NHL draft choice on defense. [/hype]

I take exception to "barely done anything" and "hype" inferences in that they imply that the attention on Koudys is somehow unwarranted. The kid is **** good and the NHL scouts are watching...is he supposed to apologize for this? The attention is a direct result of his years of hard work...in getting himself in a position were he had D1 & MJ coaches drooling and the NHL's attention. Sure he'll need to keep an even keel and be a team player, but he should be proud and I know he is driven to prove himself worthy of the attention.

FWIW -- York arrived at RPI as one of the top Jr. goaltenders in all of N.A....and was chosen in the NHL draft. IIRC, he too was on several lists as a player to watch as a freshmen.

Nice things said about TH. Hope he stays healthy. Mid season rut w/injury can be depressing.

Appert alludes to the conditioning and motivation things that likely caused him to be a healthy scratch late last season...i.e. "...but he let things slip at times during the season..." Here's hoping TH's fire is relit. We need him.
