With regards to Union. My son and I took in the Friday night game. Union looked very good for their first game. Sacred Heart showed very little. Union was on them like white on Rice. I have a feeling not landing Jooris is going to haunt RPI. He looked real good.

I've never heard if Seth was ever after him. Of course he knew about him, but I'd be interested to know if we were in the mix or not. Also, Josh might not have wanted the pressure of competing with dad's historic heroics at RPI. Dunno.

No doubt U's off to a good start. We'll know more about them after their 2 game adventure out west.

I agree-I reserve judgment on Union until after they play someone other than Sacred Heart. Union seems like a very good team-but I'll wait until they play soome teams from Hockey East or the West. It does appear though that the Capital District road trip could be a tad difficult for most ECAC teams.

It came down to Jooris or Higgs money wise.

I'm not sure I totally buy it... if I'm Seth and I've got Jooris on the line, I haul him in...and I'm not bashing Higgs -- I am on record as a fan of his.

That said, the timing does support your contention. Higgs signed on 11/9/09 and Jooris committed to U on 11/20/09.

My two cents on Jooris. Most schools shied away from him because of his lack of only recently increased size. Glad we have him though. ;)

Nah, I don't buy the size thing, Seth has brought in smaller kids....

No worries, we've got a big guy named Koudys who is no longer Josh's teammate.... :D

No one has disputed this. The fact is that not taking him may haunt RPI because he is very good. But then again, so is Higgs.

Jooris is very good offensive player. RPI wanted him to wait until next year, but he wanted to go to college now.

If it indeed came down to Higgs or Jooris, IMHO by the end of their careers we will think that SA made the right decision. Remember that Higgs is two years younger.

Then again, I like seeing legacies on the team.

It was mentioned on the WRPI broadcast that CC will visit RPI next year to start the season. Has anyone heard any other info about next year's schedule?

I know RPI plays a game at RIT and I also believe will be playing down in West Point as well. (not 100% sure on the Army game) Id also think if the Lake Placid Showcase is a success you will see it again next year, hopefully as a tournament instead of a single game.

Army has evolved to an every-other year thing, so I suspect that you are correct.
