Re: RPI 2009 - 2010 Part II: I Believe in Seth Appert
I agree. It won't hurt us to be underestimated...
Who cares? Let them sleep on us.

Won Patrick Cullens jersey...Got to converse w/him for a few minutes a real gentlemen.I put in the raffle for Chase Polacek, but did not win.
The power play is much improved, but last night should have yielded more goals( I think).....IMO it is to slow and allows the opposing team to pack it in a little.I think we should speed it up to get them running around a little more...The 5 on 3's featured all forwards and I'm a bit puzzled why Bergin saw very little PP time if any. I thought that was 1 of the reasons we recruited Him.IMO he is in large part one of the reasons we have been so successful. He's a solid defender, physical,an excellent puck handler, and is very smooth. He reminds me of Reed Cashman who played for Quinnipeac. If you attend a game focus on him for awhile,he has a sweet Game!!!The power play seems slightly improved from recent campaigns.

Looking at collegehockeystats.net, looks like Chase Polacek is leading the ECAC in the goal and points listings. Granted it is a little tainted because we have played more games than any other team in the ECAC, but he is averaging 1.4 points per game, which is still pretty good for 10 games.
If anything, I think the opponents are putting their best against "The People's Line" (aka freshman line), allowing Chase and company to have a field day. With Paul Kerins also stepping up, it will be interesting to see how our opponents pick their poison.
Even if for league assists, Chase is tied with crimson-who-must-not-be-named.

I may have missed this somewhere, but are you the one who coined "The People's Line," Will? I don't quite get the meaning of it...care to explain?
I also don't get it, but according to the WRPI broadcast on Friday, they coined it themselves. Most line names seem to be puns.
That's the spirit we're looking for Doc !Wonder who the enemy will concentrate on next year when we add Laliberte to the mix. I just dont think there are that many teams out there who have enough defensive talent amongst there forwards to concentrate on 3 offensive lines that we will be able to put out there. I sense a lot of fun being an RPI fan in the next few years. Haven't had this feeling since the early 80's.![]()
Hey Doc, if we continue to win 'em all at home, I can definitely live with a .500 batting average on the road...Absolutely-yesterday will mean a lot less if we have problems tonight. This team could get on a roll with a couple wins now. Next week is the always difficult (for us) North Country Trip. I think we have won both those games 3 or 4 times i the past 50 years-that should be another good test.
My point being, I think we can expect to see more of this crap from other burly teams.
I don't know if anyone mentioned it on the game thread, but Brown did more than its share of clutching and grabbing on our forwards last night, with nary a call. One particualr instance with D'Amigo being dragged around behind Brown's net was particularly glaring. Several instances of guys with handfuls of red jersey in their gloves. My point being, I think we can expect to see more of this crap from other burly teams. Hopefully our guys will continue to move their feet and out-hustle guys..the calls will come.
It's got to be a lot of fun to be an RPI fan these days.
