Wow. Didn't realize the thread got buried beneath 4 pages worth of "Penn State is getting hockey!?!?!?" threads. :rolleyes:

Anyway... back to matters at-hand.

Coaches picked the boys 4th, USCHO says 2nd. Even got a vote in the "others receiving" category to kick off the season.

I think we may be in for a fun year. New Conference, new sweaters, TWO games at the (new) Consol Energy Center (get the theme yet?)... maybe next year we can have a new BANNER to raise too?? :D

Last time the Colonials were there, they won 10-2 and 6-3 I believe. Probably won't be anywhere close to being that easy this time.

New jerseys look alright, The white ones look nice, still have to warm up to the blues though.

Should be a fun year.

What a difference a year makes, last year, winning 12-14 games would have been a good accomplishment, though the Miami sweep was beautiful. :D . This year, 12-14 wins, would be a major dissapointment. Not because they're in Atlantic Hockey now, but because they won't have to play 16 OOC games.

And RMU picks up victory number 1 on the year at AIC by the score of 4-1.

Colonials outshoot Jackets 47-22, Longpre with 2 goals and 1 assist. He now sits at 99 points for his career.

It's a good night when you can win with a little cushion.....and still have lots of things to improve on, lots of turnovers in the third, but a wins a win.

BTW, AIC B2 play by play guy calls longtime Sabre broadcaster Rick Jennerette an old hack, admitting later that he'd never even heard of him, was funny.

Some good news on the evenin - finally. I just got back from vomitting over that disgusting :30 span of the third period that the Pens forgot to play tonight.

Oh yeah..............yeah I threw up a little too. I watched Bobby Mo tonight, and only paid attention to the Pens during intermissions which is normally how I roll until RMU is officially done when they're both playing on the same night. Unfortunately, the RMU game ended just in time to watch that fiasco at the Consol.

Hopefully the Colonials get the sweep today, might take some of the edge off the nausea.

Feels weird not playing at Neville until well into November this year.

3-0!! I'd be happy no matter who they beat, but it's a lot sweeter when it's against that state school in Ohio. ;)

Sunday will be even more fun now.

And looking at the pictures from Bemidji's new barn, as much as I love the Island... I WANT ONE!

Nice to be 3-0. It's only OSU and they're not all that and a bag of chips this year, I think RMU is now 2-2-1 lifetime against them. But to beat them in Columbus in their home opener is a bonus. I don't think Nathan Longpre played in this one either. The good news, they're already showing more consistency. 4-0 would be awesome, here's hoping they takedown AF on Sunday.

Robert Morris early on looks like they will make some noise in the AHA. Granted, last week was against the weakest AHA team, but down our not, winning on the road at Ohio State is a solid win. That should make for an interesting game against Air Force.

Longpre sat out with a 1 game suspension because of his "fight" on Sun in AIC

I didn't see it, b2 didn't work for the Sunday game on my end anyway, radio said he threw a punch at somebody, but the announcers were a couple of student/homers who you really couldn't take seriously anyway. But since he got the suspension, I hope Nate got a good punch in................get his monies worth so to speak.
