well that's not good news. Didn't this happen last year too? or was it a different player?

Edit: All these seasons are starting to run together, apparently. I think i was thinking of Madolora at the start of the 2011 season who was suspended 3 games after an eligibility issue...

I thought it was 5 games? Either way I recall that issue being because he filed some paperwork incorrectly, a small clerical error. The penalty was hilariously out of proportion. Hopefully that is not the case here, at least the penalty part..

I'm going to be really ****ed if I'm flying into Rochester and have to watch that sieve Ruby drop another high profile game for us.

If Rotolo can't go I'd expect a Ruby/MacLean split over the two games.

I thought the original suspension was 3 games but he had already played games that season so they added those to the suspension too? (It doesn't really make sense but I've stopped trying to understand the NCAA  )

But hadn't he already been suspended for that eligibility problem before? Didn't he sit out for a while when he first got to RIT?

Sorry, I was referring to the homecoming game... with specific reference to last years homecoming game.

Overall, Ruby played well against Brock. There were, however, a few times when I thought he was a little slow and/or out of position and our D saved him. Those would have gone in last year. Coach Wilson was quoted as saying (in the D&C article) that he will start Ruby one night and MacLean the other this weekend if the eligibility problem is not cleared up by then. The outcome this weekend would most likely determine which goalie starts against BC. MacLean may be the guy.

We made it you guys! All of our complaining about the AHA has prompted RIT to join the ECHL!

It's ridiculous. The first thing I think of is a children's sports team, or some crazy KHL jersey. I hope they're not actually wearing those (I haven't ready anywhere that those are going to be worn by players).

Lets go RIT Bengals!

edit: Just released sneak peak of RITs jerseys for the season http://www.scltigers.ch/cgi-bin/pixx/359-1.jpg

Re: >>>>>RIT TIGERS... The Polisseum, just like the Ritter only more of us!<<<<<

It says right in the event description on Facebook "During the game, there will be a silent auction for all the jerseys worn by the RIT men's hockey team!"

I don't like the tiger face outline on the front ... I'm sure that's the point (T4T is dedicated to preventing the extinction of tigers) but it doesn't look right. I think the numbers really give it the ECHL/youth feel but it's not terrible.

That looks like something out of Fred Flinstone. Bet they're all barefoot too.

As far as the RIT auction Jersey's, A great cause, and a wonderful idea. Just not for the highest profile game of the regular season.

I'm cool with auctioning off the jerseys, but what happened to designs like these:

The Madolora suspension was just another perfect example of how the NCAA has no sense of logic what so ever. If my memory is correct. The root of it was a math class he took while he was traveling around playing junior hockey. It didn't meet their standards. That was laughable in itself, as this was a student with a very good Grades before and in college. The actual eligibility issue was in some way because of this Math Class Madolora had to be reinstated. So he had to fill out a form and when he filled out this form he apparently missed one checkmark. Because of that he received 3 times the suspension for hitting someone from behind and causing injury.

I am just sick and tired of how these nick picking people cause so many good students to miss games. And they always do it behind close doors and take a very hard effort to find out what happen. Why I will always be in favor of ending the NCAA and replacing it with all most anything. We will have to wait and see what details emerge here...

Guys - it's a one-off jersey for a good cause. They have to be different each time to create buzz for the event and obviously since the ones created for last year's outdoor games were more traditional, they opted for something a bit wilder this time. While I prefer more traditional options, I don't think these are so bad.

I understand the fundraising aspect of this, especially when there are so many potential buyers in town. Fact is, we picked arguably the most important regular season game in RIT history (and the foreseeable future) to wear what looks like a home made halloween costume. I hope these are just on for warm-ups.

Sure, but don't do it for homecoming.
