Well, MacLean hasn't exactly stopped the bleeding so far. 1 goal on 3 shots.

Tuned in late; apparently McGowan is injured? Anyone know how long?

He is out from the hit from behind against Air Force that wasn't called - not sure for how long.

I'm still grumpy from watching us give that game away. We started off so well, spending big stretches of time in RMU's end and then it fell apart fast starting with a lucky bounce and 2 Tigers colliding in the neutral zone that gave RMU a 2-on-1 and the lead and it all went to pot from there.

After that it seemed like too many guys turned their brains off - I nearly threw my extra Halloween candy at the screen on the next goal when 2 Tigers skated toward the front of our net where an RMU player was standing and then both coasted toward the corner where the puck was being played and RMU passed it out to the wide open guy in front and it's 3-1. Then we get a shorty but hand them another goal to kill any momentum.

I sure hope everyone is sharper tomorrow night.

During pre-game they said he has been cleared for activity but not for games so I'm interpreting that as "not too long".

Who is the best goalie RIT has right now? It seems when Rotolo is hot he is unstoppable, but when he is not he falls apart.

I am still confident that these boys have what it takes to be #2 this year.

Absolutely they do. We've got several freshmen getting significant ice time, and while they look good so far, it may take them a bit to get mentally up to speed. And it's not like we're making a ton of mistakes, but once again, the few mistakes we do make end up in the back of the net. I don't know if other teams have better shooters or if our goaltending is weaker than in the past, but that's enough to get us into trouble against top teams.

And let's keep in mind our losses so far have not been to slouch teams. Clarkson, BC, Air Force, and RoMo are good teams. With the way the Tigers are playing, they have very good shots at sweeping weekends against teams like Holy Cross, AIC, Army, Sacred Heart, and (hopefully this year) Niagara.

Also let's keep in mind that Coach's metric for a good weekend is always 2 points on the road and 4 points at home. So if we split with Air Force and Robert Morris, we're not in bad shape coming home to host Holy Cross.

From what it sounds like here on the boards it wasn't necessarily Rotolo's poor play but the poor play in front of him that got him in trouble...not exactly a new storyline for the Tigers. They also had a lot of power play time.

Still I'm not too worried about losing to a team that was 5-0-1 that plays well at home and will likely be nationally ranked sooner than later.

For sure we made some blatant mistakes in front of Rotolo but that doesn't absolve him. He has to make some saves to cover up some of those mistakes - that's his job and he has not stolen any goals for us so far.

The upside for the team is we were all over the top team in our conference for the first half of the game. They could not deal with our forecheck so for sure we can not only play with them, we can beat them.

Re: >>>>>RIT TIGERS... The Polisseum, just like the Ritter only more of us!<<<<<

I only have the box score to go on which is ugly. I am also tired of hearing RIT makes few mistakes but when they do it ends up in the back of the net. That means they are not getting big saves at key times. Not going to move up if that is the case. I've said it before and I will say it again, it would be a big mistake to just treat Rotolo as the number one. Especially at this point. Again I am saying that Ruby will be better. Point is neither guy has earned it. I think we will see Ruby tonight and he will have a chance as I think Wayne is just hoping one guy can get hot, he doesn't have much else. As a wise hockey nut told me last year, "We just need to stumble onto a good goaltender".

If they can get out with a win tonight I would see that as a success. Very tough schedule to start conference play. I would not be totally upset with 1-3, 2-2 would be nice...

Anyone have an update on the horn that was supposed to have been delivered 3 weeks ago? Hoping we can finally ditch the MP3 goal horn next week..

I've heard we won't be seeing it for a while. They were using the MP3 at the women's games this weekend

It's tough to see that with the 5 we have out, Mcgowan + Cameron + Shuler and Shumway + Amlong, we are essentially missing out a power play line. We need them all playing asap

Shumway's in tonight. Both he and Amlong have been healthy scratches.

ya the line chart has him off which is wrong, healthy scratch or not the statement still stands. They are both great on the power play as defenders, Amlong actually shoots the puck. It makes no sense having our third line in to me. When they pair with the fourth offensive line it looks awful with the four big guys out there and a defensemen at center

Shots in the second, RMU 25 to RIT 2!!! Really!

Wayne Wilson commented that McGowan did have a concussion but repeated that he was cleared for activity so I'm not sure how he was cleared so quickly

The line chart had Shumway listed in the lineup and as a scratch, and left out Fostvelt

It feels (to me) that Shumway hasn't played that much but he has played in half the games.

Re: >>>>>RIT TIGERS... The Polisseum, just like the Ritter only more of us!<<<<<

Ruby played admirably when you consider the barrage of shots he took. Whether that gives him the start against Holy Cross remains to be seen.

Getting out of 4 really tough road conference games 1-3 is not the worst thing. It would have been nice to get 2-2, but it is what it is. The team needs to get healthy against Holy Cross at home this coming week. Bottom line though is that the forwards need to get healthy.
