Not really. You can choose not to root for any of the Buffalo teams. Coach HAS to start a goalie - either Rotolo, Ruby, or MacLean. If he isn't going with a rotation, I think you need to stick to a main starter and only occasionally give him the night off. If you start yanking goalies after a bad game, you are not sending the right kind of message.

Playing goalie roulette after a whole 6 games is a bit absurd.

Yeah it doesn't really matter if you are "sold" on Rotolo at this point. He's clearly better than Ruby and MacLean is a junior with all of 3 games experience (speaks for itself). We can wish for him to be DeMike or Madolora all we want, but he is what he is....and that happens to be our best goalie and therefore best chance to win.

Are we watching the same video? How is he supposed to not let a rebound on a shot that hits the side of his body on his stick side? Really want to put it on him that he didn't catch something across his body? What you can really see in the video is the followup by AF with their fresh skaters beating our guys that were inside them. They crashed hard.

I was watching the same video as Tom - clear view of the shot and he was square to it - a routine save that he should have easily held onto, in which case there would have been nothing for those fresh AF skaters to crash hard for.

Hey - I still think Rotolo is the best option we have but as a goalie and goalie coach, I don't think there was any reason for him not to have swallowed up that shot.

Just to be clear I am not sold on either guy, and I do "think" Rotolo is the better goaltender at this time. I think it would be a mistake not to give Ruby any shot and just Ride Rotolo. But once again Wayne Wilson will have the final word and a chance to prove why he is Wayne Wilson and I am not...

Hopefully we get this guy. Good size kid, really skates well, and above average stick handling skills for kids that I've seen in Juniors. Sorry he scored a nice goal driving to the night last night, but I got chatty with a father...

Don't hold your breath. What I heard is he had some academic challenges that led him to burn a year of eligibility and he would have to take another full year of classes to straighten things out, thereby burning another year so that ship has sailed.

From what I saw may by worth it, even if he only has 2 years. All though if I understands the rules correctly he could still play 4 years if in grad school, but if what you heard is true that may not be for him, but who knows. Rumors fly like crazy on recruits. Wow! I'm assuming you are talking about a recruit from the past and not this year? The only other one from this year that I was aware of but isn't playing is Kerins and as far as I know, he is attending RIT and will play next year.

Wow! I'm assuming you are talking about a recruit from the past and not this year? The only other one from this year that I was aware of but isn't playing is Kerins and as far as I know, he is attending RIT and will play next year.

It was years ago, and it was a crazy rumor. Personally I did not believe it...

And it's now the end of the 2nd period, we're down 5-2 and I'll question the decision if he starts the 3rd. Not that he wasn't the victim of some really poor play on 2 of them and some bad bounces on others but he also hasn't made any saves.

And so Maclean starts the 3rd. I am obviously bitter with the way this game has gone seeing as we were all over them and then got a bad bounce and then made some really poor decisions on front of our net but I'm also starting to question our line calling.

First off I think we've been trying to rely way too much on our top line so far this year. They play significantly more at even strength, play all powerplays and all PKs. Personally I don't think they have enough to show for all the ice they get even if I do recognize they are our top players but at some point we will burn them out at this pace and where will we be then?

And then twice in the 2nd, he skipped over a line to put the 4th line out for an offensive zone face-off which by itself can be questioned but given the fact our 4th line was on for 2 goals against and it's being centered by a defenseman who is at a big disadvantage in the face-off circle and easily lost both, I really don't get what the coach is thinking.
