In DIII land, the 'weaker' conferences get autobids (MASCAC, ECAC-NE), and are more-than-often eliminated early in the process. But it is good for those 'weaker' conferences that they have the possibility to "dance", and they can promote that opportunity to improve their programs... if the administration is on-board.
I am hopeful that RIT (and the AHA in-general) can continue to 'make-noise' in the NCAA's, and this can possibly lead to an improved NCAA field each year. This will, of course, be an uphill battle without athletic scholarships, but not outside the realm of possibility (see Union).
