Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS - Roaring into the postseason <<<<<

Glad to see the pep band will be going too!

Here is more complete information by Karey Pine on the RIT Corner Crew Facebook page.
"Tickets on sale Tuesday morning at 10 am and thru our box office (by phone or in person) until Wednesday at 4:30 pm. First 200 tickets subsidized to $45. Buses will leave Kate Gleason Circle at 5:15 am on Saturday, March 28th, and return from South Bend, Ind on Sunday, March 29th at either 10 am or immediately following Midwest regional final game on Sunday evening. Final departure time pending outcome of Saturday's tournament play. 65 seats available for buses. You must pick up your bus voucher from our box office on campus. And must be presented at boarding. So you CAN buy tix at subsidized price from anywhere - Rochester and beyond. But must pick up bus voucher in person at the Rochester box office. Hope this helps you all to plan as needed."
"Hotel accommodations are up to individuals to arrange. I will post information tmrw morning that my office researched on line today abt lodging near the campus and where there's availability. But folks need to make those arrangements individually."

Bus and subsidized tickets are for students only, first come/first serve. Ticket/Bus questions can best be answered by the RIT Box Office.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS - Roaring into the postseason <<<<<

The AHA all tournament team only included play during the semifinals and finals at BCA. Personally, I voted for McGowan but I know of at one vote for Ruby and completely understand and support that vote as well.
Yeah, I was surprised Ruby didn't get any recognition. I guess Friday's head-stand by Wildung was enough to get all tournament goaltender despite being out-shined in the tournament's biggest game by a goalie that won both of his games and allowed only two goals while doing so.

So if they only count performances from the semis and finals, they should re-name the trophy. "Tournament MVP" is not correct. Championship Weekend MVP or Final Four MVP (if it weren't trademarked by NCAA basketball) would be more appropriate.

Chris Tanev signed a 5 year extension with Vancouver.

http://canucks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=759538&navid=DL|VAN|home

Tanev, 25, has recorded 16 points (2-14-16) and 10 penalty minutes in his sixth season with the Canucks. He currently ranks second on the team with a +10 rating, first on the team in shorthanded time on ice per game (2:46) and second in even-strength time on ice per game (17:55). Tanev also leads the team and ranks 13th in the League in blocked shots this season with 153.

Fun stats: Brad McGowan had 23 goals in his first three seasons. He has 23 this season, 18 of them since January 9, and 12 of them during RIT's current seven-game winning streak.

Soo does this mean he's done scoring?

Depends on whether the glass is half full or half empty.

The trend is upward.

It will be on watchESPN, which requires a cable subscription I'm pretty sure.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS - Roaring into the postseason <<<<<

Items of note:

The D&C has had an article on the Tigers every day since Friday so far (Garbowsky for Hobey; Friday results and a feature on the seniors; Saturday results; selection show results (video); Wayne Wilson on "pressure"). Today's article (and video) is on the Norrish twins.

Blast from the past: Here's Wilson in October 2014: "'We want to set a high bar,' he says. 'We always have. For us, it's about trying to get to the NCAAs.' The new $38 million arena brings with it added expectations and pressure. 'We don't build rinks like this to finish in ninth place,' Wilson says." **** straight.

Free local viewing parties: In the club lounge at the Polisseum, and at Jeremiah's Tavern on Monroe. Free food at both.

Garbowsky is the AHA Player of the Week; Ruby the Goalie of the Week; Brady Norrish the Defensive Player of the Week. Brandon Wildung made Rookie of the Week, though, which implies he was better than Norrish but not as good as Ruby. =)

It's Minnesota State! How many games do we have to win before people get our name right?

Dunno. The poster who keeps track of women's D-I commitments insists on calling us "Rochester", and non-local media often abbreviate us to "Rochester Tech".

We were in the Frozen Four and the TV announcers kept calling us RPI. No sympathy.

Don't be so defensive. We all here at RIT have known full well since the mid '80s who Mankato State is. :p
