From what I gathered we are playing Penn State for Homecoming then have a game(s) agianst Michigan later in the season at home.
Don't get your hopes up of any Michigan-like program (i.e. Big-10 schools, Notre Dame, BC, BU, North Dakota, etc...) coming to Ritter. Doesn't make any sense financially or competitively for teams like that to play against a decided underdog in an arena that small. For now, having access to an arena like the BCA for one or two games a season is huge towards getting these kinds of programs to come to town.

Sacred Heart

If they could get their own AHA could use replay, granted if every other team in the league got cameras installed.

Bentley too.

I'm so glad AHA schools are dedicated to their hockey programs to not supply an on-campus rink. :sarcasm:

If Vancouver snatched Brenner from Toronto I'd say Vancouver could real scary in the next couple years.

Yet another Tiger is in the Vancouver system - The Canucks signed an affiliate deal with the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL. Jared DeMichiel plays for the K-wings.

Thought colleges and NHL couldn't have affiliation....Why Golisano couldn't help with a rink initially, and Pegula had to make Penn state donation prior to Sabres purchase... I guess if the sabres own it and rent ice time out thats okay? I am okay with it, i just was under the impression this is frowned upon by the NCAA with the Pro teams.

ECHL affiliations don't necessarily work that way. A number of the players on ECHL teams are unaffiliated while the NHL/AHL parents can send a few of their younger prospects that need playing time rather than riding the pines in the AHL. Unless Jared's rights are traded from Boston/Providence to Vancouver/St. John's, he's not in their system.

Maybe because they're also actually using the facility and not just paying to build CC a barn, it's not considered a "violation"... maybe?
I think it is also a deal where the Sabres will put up some of the capital only if CC comes up with the rest of it (half, maybe) on their own. Which still makes me think it won't happen. Where is CC going to get that kind of cash?

Congrats to the @KalamazooWings and @VanCanucks on their new affiliation...guess the whole organization owns 3 former #rit tigers now #sick

haha Where? They are extremely land-locked. Not to mention that there not a bad spot of the city so what would they demolish?

Corner of Main and Delavan is one place being considered, according to an article I read somewhere. Which just happens to be where their current athletic facilities are located (in particular, the pool, basketball arena, football field, and track). But unless they're going to build it on top of the basketball building, they'll lose a parking lot.

Big news! From Twitter..
Even more hockey! RT @RIT_SG: #sg announces the signing of the b2 contract, which will allow @sg tv to show every #rit hockey away game!

The b2 stream quality is, well, not always very good from what I've been told - but this is still a big step in the right direction. Hopefully with RIT handing them money, they will be forced to improve.
