For the lazy among us who don't want to follow the link :p:

Garbowsky (Sr.) C

McGowan (Sr.) A
Kuqali (Jr.) A
A. Miller (Jr.) A

Miller is the only one who is a little bit of a surprise. Hopefully, they will lead the team to many victories and we will have much rejoicing. Huzzah!

Looks like we know dates for our Non-Conference games already.

10/10 - vs Clarkson
10/11 - vs St. Lawrence
10/18 - Boston College (Brick City Homecoming is 10/16-10/19, so I took a good guess that the game is on Saturday again)
11/29 - @ Yale
1/2 and 1/3 @ Mariucci Classic. I believe we are playing Minnesota the first night, and then Merrimack or the 4th team the next night depending on outcomes. I couldn't find who that 4th team is.

With the departure of UConn from the AHA, we know we will play 4 conference opponents 4 times each, and 6 opponents twice. I haven't seen/heard which teams we play 4 times yet.

I bet Air Force is one of them!

Pres. Destler on Polisseni Center fundraising:

The Polisseni Center fundraising now stands at about $10 million. We are continuing to bridge the gap with additional gifts and sponsorships. The seat naming website is now complete (rit.edu/development/giving/powerplay/seats/) and will be heavily promoted throughout the remainder of construction until the opening in October. The hockey fans have come out to support the facility, though with so many other great opportunities for support across campus, we can’t expect all RIT donors to give to this one project. Nevertheless, I expect that the campaign will raise between $11 and $12 million when completed. As a point of reference, the Blue Cross Arena downtown was named for $2 million.

The fourth team in the Minnesota tournament is UMass-Lowell.

And your supposition about the new AHA league format is not quite correct. Each team will play eight other opponents three times each, and two opponents twice each, for a total of 28 league games.

Thanks.

Have the scheduling plans changed? I got the 4x4, 6x2 plan from Chris Lerch's column on 5/17/13... http://www.uscho.com/2013/05/17/atl...hip-limit-eyeing-replacement-for-connecticut/
The league will play a 28-game, 11-team schedule starting in 2014-15 following Connecticut’s departure to Hockey East. Teams will play six opponents twice and four opponents four times. A rotation system will be used to select the number of games played between opponents.
It does continue on with a quote from the commissioner saying they are still working out the formula, so I would believe that it has changed, but I haven't seen anything else on it.

I think the 4x4, 6x2 plan works better for travel between east/west, and especially to Air Force, but I suppose the 8x3, 2x2 plan isn't any worse than playing 1 game at Air Force like has been done by western teams the past few years. The schedule can be worked to play your single games against two relatively close opponents in the same weekend.

Last I heard (a couple of weeks ago) the schedule was 95% complete and just awaiting the final approvals. My information is from a conversation with Coach Wilson sitting in the hotel lobby in Worcester during the playoffs. Even at that time, though, there seemed to still be some minimal uncertainty remaining. Given the AHA's past performance, it wouldn't surprise me if there was a last minute change.

Most likely some of the Eastern pod teams balking at 1 game trips to Colorado - not that I blame them.

I imagine it works in their favor as they have reduced cost for room and board while on the road. One less hotel night stay and three less meals per player \ coach.

Actually I don't think that is an issue, but I recalled when Air Force join the AHA they had to agree to pay much of the extra travel and hotel costs. Perhaps that was only for the referees but I want to say that some of the other teams costs in traveling to Air Force was being picked up by Air Force. Hopefully one of the media guys can recall?

I remember hearing this as well, and with the AHA being a cost containment league it would make sense.

The Norrish twins are playing for the RBC cup today, the national championship for all Jr. A leagues across Canada. The game is supposed to be TSN at 7:30 if anyone gets it.

Yorktown won 4-3 in ot. Last Tiger to play on an RBC champion was Favot in Aurora. Lets hope the Norrish boys RIT careers have highlights like Favots.

Been a while since the last weekend at the Ritter, but I finally went through my photos from the three games that weekend. There's a few galleries of photos at http://photos.michaeldumont.com/Hockey for anyone who is interested.

As most people, I have been anxiously awaiting a schedule. I found this link, but the schedule isn't acutally posted yet http://www.ritathletics.com/schedule.aspx?schedule=346&path=mhock

On the mobile site, however - the schedule is listed under 'events' on the mens hockey page. Looks like the opening of the Polisseni Center is going to be a tough weekend.

If that is the official schedule, it looks like they went back to the league scheme (4x4, 6x2) that mar7967 described on May 7th.
