Re: >>> RIT Tigers 2018/2019 - Time For The Tigers to Roar <<<

Not exactly the third period we're looking for with the lead, but hot goaltending can make up for a lot.

RIT will control their own destiny for a bye heading into next weekend regardless of the result tomorrow, but it would be great to see them get two points closer to actually capturing it and give them some leeway down the stretch.

Got it done. Nice job Tigers and nice job radio guys. Kind of a weird game day but it is what it is, a nice win. So does anybody come back to the rink/court tonight to watch the Harlem Globetrotters? Scott? 😄

Jeff Dunham tomorrow night, that's the real draw!

Mohegan Sun just an hour's drive away. Gambling, Johnny Rockets and Krispy Kreme, can't ask for more!

Go tigers!

We drove to New Haven to watch Colgate at Yale.

With Mercyhurst getting a draw against Army, the Tigers increase their lead on the Lakers to 2 points. They can also gain ground on Bentley for second with a result tomorrow. I think it would be tough to catch AIC.

Yeah it would of been 3 points over Mercyhurst if Army could of buried their breakaway short handed with 4 seconds left in overtime. It clanged off the post. Exciting game at Tate tonight.

Re: >>> RIT Tigers 2018/2019 - Time For The Tigers to Roar <<<

I am feel like they are really lucky to walk out of this weekend with 2 points. There is no doubt this team is much improve than last 2 years, but what remains very frustrating is that this team keeps being their own worst enemy. The parade of penalties in the third with the lead is just inexcusable. And then to lose in OT with under a minute left....

The good news is I think they have a favorable schedule to secure a first round bye. I gotta say this team gives you serious concern if it can play consistent enough to win a championship...

Re: >>> RIT Tigers 2018/2019 - Time For The Tigers to Roar <<<

This team would be right up with the conference leaders, if not ahead of them, if they had any inkling of how to play with a lead. A steady stream to the penalty box and/or allowing the opposing team to spend all 3rd period in your zone aren't great ways to consistently get it done, even if Drackett pulled them to the finish line on Friday.

Yeah I think the penalty on Johnstone walking in may have been necessary but none of the others were. Another third period lead squandered. Definitely miss Valuenzuela on face offs and the PP. Any word on his injury? First round bye is shaky and as a selfish fan if it came down to it Id rather finish in 6th than 5th so we could at least get a couple more home games.

Re: >>> RIT Tigers 2018/2019 - Time For The Tigers to Roar <<<

Tonight was a team that looked like they were just put together for their first game. Lot of hesitant play, poor passing and mental mistakes. They gave this game away on the third. Not sure how they will do in the playoffs if they continue to play like they did tonight. On the plus side, more fans for the Tigers than SHU in the stands.

RIT has let up 41 goals in the third period. To put that in perspective, they have let up 43 in the first two periods combined.

They seem to be taking their "die on empty" thing a little too literally.

If there is a silver lining, Bentley and Air Force split their respective weekend series and Army came back to beat Mercyhurst by scoring a late extra attacker goal and then winning in overtime with 1.7 seconds left in OT. So standings wise, no real changes..

Fell off to the second page. Hoping everybody is healthy for the playoffs.

I have a nagging shoulder injury that’s making it hard to carry the gear, but otherwise I’m ready to go.

I am glad you and Blaze are okay Ed. :)

I'm doing well too, and like you have a few nagging injuries that never bothered me in my youth but have a way of sneaking up on me in the cold weather.... Blaze said something about Hawaii a few weeks back, maybe that's the answer after the season is over. :)

Re: >>> RIT Tigers 2018/2019 - Time For The Tigers to Roar <<<

Tigers have some clinching scenarios (that actually matter) this weekend. They've all but clinched home ice for round 1 (and who really cares about that anyway), but here are clinching scenarios for either top 4 or the bye. Basically Air Force beating Mercyhurst's brains in would not be a bad thing as long as we take care of business (and also would likely guarantee we wouldn't see them until the final 4).

- Clinches a bye with a sweep if either Sacred Heart is swept or Mercyhurst takes 1 point or less.
- Clinches a bye with a 3 point weekend if Mercyhurst is swept.
- Clinches top 4 with a sweep if Sacred Heart is swept and Mercyhurst takes 1 point or less.

In a conference like this, I can't imagine a wave of sweeps and or 3-point weekends happening all at once. But we can dream.
We all know seeding, byes, home-ice, etc will likely not be decided (with a few exceptions - AIC, Canisius) until sometime around 9:30 pm on March 2.

RIT can finish anywhere from 1st to 10th right now, but they only control their destiny for a fourth-place finish. Only AIC, Bentley, and RIT can still finish first.

Ditch Scott and have some junior broadcaster carry the gear
