Yep RMU has some real dirty d bags on their team. The refs didnt see that spear or it woulda been a gamer

Yeah shoulda been a major, jumping cross check to the head from behind... Btw how did you get that video - do you record from live tv to a computer or somehow pull from your dvr?

Grabbed it from the Eversport live stream.
The refs likely called it high sticking to get around the automatic major for contact to the head.

How Schuler's hit to the head was not a major is beyond me.

Great dominant play tonight. They played good last night, but this was a totally different team tonight.

You may have seen Coach Wilson and Coach Schooley speaking with the officials after the handshakes. This was apparently why.

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

As strange of a start RIT has had this season, I still think they can reach the top 3 spots come Feb. 27. RIT has the talent, they just need a little more fine tuning.

After splitting with Robert Morris was when the team really started rolling last year. The decisive win yesterday should at least give them some much needed confidence.

Let's also remember RIT is usually a second half of the season type of team. We don't perform the best in the beginning but tend to get things rolling come January.

I completely agree.

Who do you guys and gals think which goalie the team plays better with, Short or Rotolo?

I think this is one of the best starts in a few years. Normally by this time into the season, this thread is filled with doubt and despair.

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

Very good chance RIT will have 3rd place by this upcoming sunday - as long as HC sweeps Bentley, RoMo at least splits with Canisius, and RIT takes all 4 points (all very possible).

Those 3 points against Army are looking better.

Rotolo has been basically average or somewhat below average in most of his games. Short seems to be playing better overall but seems to have Jordan Ruby's tendency to let in one goal more than he should..

Neither of them are sporting stats that are appropriate for a D1 goalie..

Not including BC, Short has let in one less goal over the last four games while the offense helped him out with six goals on Saturday compared to 0 goal support for Rotolo on Friday.

But your right, neither are showing that they should be the starter at this point which is sad as we hit he mid-point of the season.

Yeah, I know their stats are similar, I was referring more to what I saw watching the two of them. We know Rotolo has it in him to be a #1, not sure what is happening to him this year..

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

From the head office:

Winthrop, MA -- Atlantic Hockey has announced one-game suspensions for two players, Robert Morris forward Timmy Moore and Holy Cross forward Ryan Ferrill. Both players were assessed suspensions in accordance with the league's supplemental discipline protocol following their actions in their respective games played on Saturday, December 5.
Moore, a sophomore, was issued a one-game suspension after the league reviewed footage from last Saturday's game at RIT. Moore was whistled for a high-sticking penalty in the second period, but the Supervisor of Officials and Commissioner DeGregorio determined that the correct call should have been "contact to the head" and thus have suspended Moore for one game as supplemental discipline. He will be unable to play in Robert Morris' next game against Canisius on Saturday, December 12.

Ferrill, also a sophomore, received a major penalty for spearing and a game misconduct in the first period against Mercyhurst on Saturday. He was handed down an additional one-game suspension through the league's supplemental discipline process and will be forced to sit in the Crusaders' next game on Friday, December 11 at Bentley.

Have to give the Main office credit, but I think there were a few more questionable hits as I recall.
