You can tell when they're adding theatrics to the fall, especially in a slo-mo relplay.

Seems like everything looks more theatrical in slo-mo.

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

That's the thing. These guys aren't like us guys. They're elite D-I athletes. I know full well what it is like to fall and I surely have little control of myself when I do. However I am by no means whatsoever considered an athlete, let alone an elite one. You can tell when they're adding theatrics to the fall, especially in a slo-mo relplay.

Yes but.....you have to expect other players to maybe, play by the rules and not horse-collar you from behind (or whatever method the player used) to pull him down from behind. It's akin to an experienced F-1 driver not expecting somebody bumping them from behind while they go around a curve, the end result being a bad crash while the driver struggles to maintain control. Some drivers may be graceful while slamming into the wall while most would be flailing like a little school girl!

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

Well, given how BC has been playing and how RIT has been playing, 6-2 is actually a pretty surprisingly good result for RIT.

Of course it hurts a lot more when you notice RIT led 2-0 and then gave up 6 unanswered..

Though there's no shame in struggling to score on Demko, its worth noting that our second goal also went in off a defender...I'm starting to think that other teams are scoring on themselves about as frequently as we're actually putting it in. :(

Some positive things to note from Saturday:

1) We expected that during the two four-on-fours that BC would have the advantage based on size and speed, but RIT had a territorial advantage during both.

2) BC managed eight shots on goal in its six power plays. While RIT didn't score on its only power play, the Tigers mustered five SOG.

3) RIT has the speed to compete with the fastest teams in the country.

No doubt if we had anyone who knew how to finish scoring chances we might be ranked.

1 & 3 were definitely great unexpected results we can take away from this game. I was following the game as best I could while attending the women's game and I was astounded how fast we took a 2-0 lead to start out and that it was our new recruits that scored both of them. It will hopefully mean good things for the future of the Tigers on offense, especially Brown he has really surprised me so far this season.

Article on Atlantic Hockey early into this season....reading this makes this weekends games and those against Niagara before the break seem pretty important to the Tigers. Granted it is how we are playing at the end of the season that counts.

Yeah, not to pull the fire alarm but this team needs some in-conference wins before the break. Getting two or more points this weekend would help get them going in the 2nd half.

The Amerks just announced that they are reassigning Matt Garbowsky to Elmira. He should get a lot more playing time with the Jackals.

Someone needs to do more researched! I stumbled upon this article on recruit Regan Seiferling that says "the 18-year-old defenceman committed to the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Terriers college hockey program"
http://www.mjtimes.sk.ca/Sports/Hockey/2015-12-03/article-4363271/Seiferling-enjoying-dream-season/1

The article also says he can join the team in 2016 or 2017, depending on how ready he is.

Looks like he had better start looking for an apartment in Dansville!!
Appreciate the updates, Ed... I was looking to get some more suite tickets for this weekend's games, but no need now! Although I still might just do that... "just in-case"...

Cheers!!!

So many missed opportunities so far tonight. Good play nonetheless, but no ones finishing.

Mistake, after mistake, after mistake...

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

This team is playing like it doesn't actually care. No hustle tonight, nobody on the ice seemed to care it was 1-0, 2-0, 3-0...

The lack of finish is the biggest problem..but the lack of everything else is inexcusable.

Re: >>>>>>>>> RIT Tigers 2015-16 Regular season thread. On the prowl again

Went to tonights game and sure glad I did. It was their best performance of the season and shows how good this team can play. Unfortunately Schuler took a hit up high and missed third period, hoping its not concussion problems again... But our younger players are starting to really step it up. Powell, Valenzuela, and Brown. Brady Norrish has got to be one of the fastest d men in college hockey and he plays like he is 6'4 220.
