Not to get political, but that kind of attitude toward our military has caused a lot more problems lately than it's solved. Our fighting men and women must play by the rules. When they don't, you get stuff like Abu Grahib.

Ughh... that was frustrating. How you have 56 shots and only two goals... RIT dominated for the most part and Bentley is not a very impressive team top to bottom, but they made the most of their few scoring chances. That second goal was awful though, and I was at the game and couldn't really see what happened on the OT goal but it looked like a Bentley player just got lucky and his momentum carried the rebounded puck into the empty net. **** goal to lose on. Kerins robbed point blank in OT, I heard he has a great shot but I have not seen that pin point precision. We needed it there!

Disappointing loss but it's only one game. Hoping for a better result tonight.

Agreed. Need to get the split. My take on last night was that I was in Troy watching RPI vs Yale. When Yale lost 3-2 in OT I checked my phone to see that RIT vs Bentley was going into OT. I thought right then and there what were the odds that two Wilsons would lose 3-2 in overtime? By the time I got to my car my fear came true. Need to get the split. Bentley playing with house money they already got two points on the weekend.

We have scored a decent amount of goals, albeit against some weaker teams. Being at the game I can tell you there were at least two robbery of saves - in fact the ine unreal save came on a rebound off the back boards that went to Skirving with an open net causing the goalie to have to stretch like gumby to somehow get his leg over. That play resulted in the goalie's injury and is why they switched in the third. I bet he is going to be out for a bit as I guarantee he tore something. As for finishers, I do think Valenzuela being a freshmen and already he looks like an experienced player will be our next big scorer. I like the line he is on for quickness and hard work, but perhaps he'd benefit from having a bigger guy on his line like Kerins or Mikowski (who was out dont know why he is a good big forward for us)

Except for last year, we've had that problem for years.

The second goal Rotolo allowed was rough, but he did make a great save on a Bentley rush to make up for it. I thought RIT got unlucky at times.

BTW, anyone know what happened with Argue for Bentley as to why he didn't play the 3rd?

Lerch said something about a knee injury. What exactly I don't know.

Turns out it was a groin injury. He's not dressed tonight.

This team still has no finishers. Even tonight it took us laying on top of their goalie and an own goal for RIT to score anything. Against a backup goalie who has hardly even played in 3 years for Bentley.

I think we're going to lose a lot of games out shooting out opponents by double digits.

To be fair, I think there's a decent shot Skirving would have scored on Golberg's pass if it hadn't deflected in. (I really liked Skirving's hustle last night; he was the only one who seemed desperate to score.)

Mitchell has great moves but doesn't have anyone to pass to who can put the puck in like he did last year. Schuler hasn't regained his touch (but then, he was also playing with Garbo and McGowan when he had it, two years ago). The freshmen look like they have good speed and skills but haven't solved D-I goaltending yet.

The good news is that the shot statistics show that we can dominate possession and get the puck to the net. So all we need to fix is the finish. But is 'finishing' fixable? I don't know enough about hockey to say.

Tigers have a beauty in Brown. He will end up being really special and a is a solid pro prospect.

I made the comment to my buddy at the game yesterday that it's very clear that the person who misses Garbo and McGowan the most is Mitchell. There's so many times you see him out there in just the right spot of making a great pass but it doesn't end up amounting to anything because his linemates are simply not as good. That's not really even a knock on them...nobody on this team is as good as Garbo or McGowan were.

It really irked me that Wilson basically took a shot at Short in his post game. Of all the problems this team had last night, Short was not one of them. He didn't let up any soft goals and the equalizer late in the 3rd was the result of (yet another) deep defensive zone turnover rather than Short making a mistake. I quite liked what I saw from Short.

It's going to be a rough stretch of weeks if we don't figure out scoring. RoMo is once again a very good team, and Boston College has the nation's best goalie..

I didn't hear the WITR interview but he had nothing but good things to say about Short in his Sports Zone post game comments:

"I thought he played great. I thought he played very well. I couldn't pin any of the goals on him and he made a couple other key saves, so I thought he played well."

That's good to hear. On the WITR interview he made a comment about needing to find a guy who wasn't going to give up the late goals. I missed most of the interview so maybe I missed some kind of context but it sure sounded pretty down on both goalies.
