Northeastern only had 12 healthy skaters for at least part of a game last year, and they only had 13 when they started to get hot. There have been tournament teams over the years that didn't have more than 15 or 16 skaters. Empty space on a line chart is pretty common. Rosters tend to be a little more stable once the season starts at scholarship schools, because a player who is on at least a partial scholarship doesn't decide to quit the team because her class load is too heavy or she met the love of her life. In most sports, it seems that programs that don't give any dollars based on the student playing a varsity sport roster a couple of extras, because those kids can drop the sport with less consequence.I'm not sure how all those other teams manage injuries, then. Harvard had 19 players total? That's not even enough to fill a gameday roster if everyone's healthy. How is that possible?
