I noticed the Sacred Heart head hunter that took out Decouteoux was in the lineup Saturday. Any news on supplemental action against him after video review by the league?

I don't think they're starting until Christmas break. The area has a little bit of fencing around it but that's about it.

Why would they do that?? Who are we anyways, Air Force???? :D

I got to say that I am really happy about RIT's Blue line last 3 games or so. Especially Saracino and Noyes and looking like the players RIT needs them to be. Especially Cino, you could hear him helping out his other defenseman all night. He covered up every mistake, made some goals happen and scored one himself. You know I thought when he was a freshman he was a solid defenceman I never thought he would develop as much as he has on th offensive end.

I've seen Niagara 4 times this season and they are a solid hockey team you have to come to play. However with the exception of having the best goaltender in the league, they don't scare me. If RIT plays a solid 60 they have a decent chance at pulling off a win.

BTW if your coming out to the game, be prepared to pay near minor league like prices at Niagara. Can go to a Bandits game for less...

I think they both looked good, but in the end Ruby did nothing to improve his standing compared to Watson who has outplayed him all year. Even this past weekend, the stat lines are better for Watson. Given that Ruby has had 1 good game (against a bad, bad team) and Watson has had a number of good games (against decent/good teams) it's pretty clear who should be playing our conference games.

I would definately go with Watson on Wednesday against Niagara.

After the break, I suspect both Watson and Ruby get a start at St. Lawrence and we go from there.

Shumway and Kuqali have also looked really good and I noticed they were actually paired together on the powerplay, which seemed to work out pretty well.

I would rank them behind Cino and Noyes in pecking order of defensemen. I thought Brownell played a pretty good game. He seems to be a bigger version of Spivak.

Carly’s Club Wish List (http://giving.roswellpark.org/CarlysWishList2012)

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara hockey team will host a Teddy Bear Toss presented by the Beverly Hills Teddy Bear Company, benefitting the Carly’s Club for Kids & Cancer Research at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, on Wednesday, Dec. 12 when the Purple Eagles host the RIT Tigers at 7 p.m.

Carly’s Club exists to offer support programs to make life more manageable for children diagnosed with cancer and their families, and to raise funds for pediatric cancer research seeking cures at Roswell Park.

“Niagara University and its hockey team has had a long-standing relationship with Carly’s Club at Roswell Park and continues to prove their dedication to children and teens diagnosed with cancer this holiday season,” Senior Special Events Coordinator for Roswell Park Robin Hace said. “We are truly grateful for their support and efforts to help bring smiles and brighter days to these deserving children at a time that can often be strenuous for families dealing with a child’s cancer diagnosis.”

The Purple Eagles are asking the community to lend a hand in their mission in sending a message of hope to needy children in the area by offering new toys for distribution as holiday gifts.

Fans that bring a new, stuffed animal to the game will receive a discounted ticket, and will be able to toss them onto the ice following the Purple Eagles’ first goal of the game. There will also be teddy bears for purchase provided by the Beverly Hill Teddy Bear Company. The hockey team will then personally deliver all tossed or donated items to patients at Roswell Park’s Carly Club on Friday, Dec. 14.

The only items permitted on the ice are soft items (i.e. stuff animals, Nerf sports, etc.), while all other donations can be placed in the provided bins.

Click on the link above to find an outline of requested and needed items for the upcoming holiday season. Each of the items listed has been specifically requested by a child; however donated items not included on the list will also be accepted by Carly’s Club.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-2013 - Locked, Loaded, And Ready To Roar <<<<<

Ruby's only action on the last couple weeks was game 1 against Sacred Heart. I thought he had a solid game, and made some very impressive saves. I thought Watson was a little more shaky this weekend. He seemed to not firmly hold the puck a couple times, instead opting to drop and cover.

I didn't see Friday's game but did see Saturday's. I should have qualified my statement with that. I was basing my judgment on stats for Ruby and then seeing Saturday's game. I am going to have to disagree a bit. I didn't think Watson looked shaky. Some of his rebounds were a bit juicy but I can't fault him for dropping and covering. It's the smart play sometimes.

I agree with this.

I am going to reserve judgment until RIT plays a quality opponent. Three decent games against bad teams does not make me think they have turned the corner yet. If they play decent against Niagara then I will re-evaluate. That being said, Saracino looked very good on Saturday night. Even if it was against SHU.

I didn't meant to imply that Watson was shaky. I thought he played ok. I just thought that Ruby played a little better, even though he allowed 1 more goal.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-2013 - Locked, Loaded, And Ready To Roar <<<<<

Saw the highlights of this past weekend's games on YouTube.

What struck me and my wife is that the Tigers are pulling the trigger on shots a lot faster than they have been this season. A lot of times, they'd get the puck and hold onto it for a second or two before shooting... but several of this weekend's goals came because they ripped off a shot before the goalie could react. I like it.

They were great last weekend no doubt, I think Kuqali may have had a goal taken away by Cole, looking at the replay I am not sure if Mike got that puck before it crossed the line...

Shumway made the play of the game on Friday on RIT's final goal that sealed the deal. It was a great keep at the line and then pass to Kuqali who found McGowan to put that game away...

It's very, very close. I think the heel of the stick might have touched the puck before it crossed the line.

I am looking forward to tonight's game. I think it will be a good test to see how much the defense has improved these past three games. Have they really improved or do they just look like they have improved due to weak opponents? I think that will be interesting to see. I just wish I could watch the game so that I could tell by watching and not just by stats.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-2013 - Locked, Loaded, And Ready To Roar <<<<<

I think I see a few awful things happening tonight. Particularly getting shut out or letting in double digit goals. I hope I'm very wrong, but let's be real here.. Niagara is the strongest team RIT has played against so far this season and I'm sure they're still sore over getting knocked out in the semis last year. Bring up Michigan if you want, but they are not a good team this year and were ranked way higher than they should have been (we also won against their freshman goalie who had an awful game).

Double digit goals? Umm I don't think RIT is struggling that bad this year. Wouldn't be too surprised to see a 5-1 game

I'm not sure that Niagara is the strongest team. I would argue that Colgate is a better team.

I completely argee on Michigan. They suck.

Getting shut out isn't hard to imagine, but it seems unlikely. Our offense is playing well and our power play is pretty strong.

I see no way in which we give up double digit goals. Watson is not that bad and, though our defense has been questionable, it's improving and was never double-digit goals bad.

There's a good chance we don't win tonight, but I don't think we are getting steamrolled.

It ended up working, but as I mentioned earlier, that was NOT a good pass across the blue line under pressure with a one goal lead. That will result in a high quality scoring pass for the opposition far more often than for the power play. That was an inch from another Sacred Heart breakaway. Puck's gotta go back around the boards.

Do you guys stream that video, or is that a TV product? Pretty decent quality there.
