I will say it seems to me that over the past few years RIT has developed a habit of playing both up and down to their respective opponents.

I was a bit worried the Tigers would still have their heads in BCA for this game, but I thought the team came out ok for the start. I think the difference we are seeing is the lack of a true goal scorer. We had quite a few chances last night and no one ever seemed to be home for the finish. Perhaps when Burt isn't playing so much on the blueline, he can start to fill that void?

Hopefully the tigers can figure it out soon, 1 goal scored in 2 conference matches is not going to cut it.

Anyone got any idea what this tweet could mean? It could be meaningless... but it doesn't appear to be.

Maybe these early season struggles are just like every other season. The team simply starts a little slow. I think, as fans, we were a little more hopeful for a fast conference start given that the team normally has a "harder" OOC opening season schedule.

I am hoping Madolora's tweet is in reference to some continuing foul up with this college records and not dissatisfaction with RIT or the team

Or perhaps it's an academic problem. That tweet seems seriously out of line at face value and I assume defiantly was supposed to be definitely to pick a nit.

i totally believe it. i have seen enough games to know that rit's physical play (and relative success, i am sure) can get in the heads of opposing players. many games get pretty chippy, and our boys don't really shy away from the fight.

i admittedly only saw the second half of the game, but to me burt's punch was the most egregious thing i saw. but then again, you can only see so much of the rink at a time on the tv feed, and the announcing and camera work was obviously biased towards canisius too. basically, i don't want the player who is likely our star (and in many ways face of the team) to miss any time because of a stupid cheap shot penalty. and i mean no disrespect to burt at all by that, i thought he played great and he is a favorite of mine.

Still a lot of hockey to play so I wouldn't be too upset about last night's game. A 2-1 loss (not counting the empty netter) is not an awlful loss and I don't have the expectation that the Tigers (or any other team) were going to go undefeated this year.

From the last two games, seems the defense need to step up a bit and stop letting the other teams from just skating up to the goal. This will come in time.

Good to hear so many RIT fans there, over the radio, it sounded like a home game.

That absolutely sucks for Madolora. Once the NCAA issues a judgement how can they possibly decide two years later to revisit it? Nothing quite like poisoning a guys final year.

At least the team has quality depth in the net with Watson & Ruby.

NCAA - No Concern About Athletes.....

I be shocked if there isn't a definitive ruling from two years ago that RIT can point to here.

Thx for the 411 on Madolora. I understand his upset. The sound system in Buffalo last night was its usual self. I couldn't understand a word that was uttered by the PA announcer. Why does he bother? And, was there something wrong with the ice surface? I saw way too many "slips", and odd puck bounces to be otherwise. As bad as the team played last night nobody could be as upset as Coach Wilson. He said it all, and I agreed. Perhaps this is a lesson best learned at the start of the season. We will see those Griffin-guys a couple of more times before the season ends.

I have a strong feeling that Ruby will be starting Saturday, given this recent Madolora development.

Indeed - you would think so after Derek Hahn.

But this is the NCAA and it might not matter what they ruled back then.

Isn't there some sort of NCAA clearing house that rules on these things? It isn't much of a ruling if it doesn't hold water two years later, unless there is new information they didn't have before.

All I know is Hahn was screwed out of his senior year.
