Well I threw my pink pom pom into the trash after the game. Bought sums up the night...

you can't blame it on the pink...the womens team won nicely with pink. The defense sucked, DeMike let in some soft goals. He basically lost all focus after his hit/penalty in the 1st.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2009-2010 <<<<< Rockin' The Ritter For Another Year

Not to break up the pity party, but if RIT sweeps the next two weekends, they guarantee themselves the #1 seed for the tournament. The Tigers are also the only team that controls their own destiny for the #1 seed. Granted, neither Sacred Heart nor Army (especially at home) can be taken lightly.

Just wanted to say that there is hope at the end of this bleak tunnel (in sole possession of first place with games in hand over second and third place).

For anyone that cares if I did my research right Sacred Heart currently holds the AHA Belt. This means that RIT has a chance at it next week.

Yep ... 4 goals should be enough to win a game.

From the post-game show, sounds like pink will become an annual event. Seems it will get old fast. Love the fund raising aspect, but I suspect people won't continue to get so excited about it.

But, yeah ... breast cancer sucks!

BTW: When did they start allowing us to post "sucks"?

Of course what makes me sad right now is that I am out of town for Air Force weekend.:(

Sorry to crash the RIT thread...been away from USCHO most of the season. Is there a general Atlantic Hockey thread besides the Pick 'em this season?

There is, but no one has really used it unfortunately. On a surprising note, Bentley actually has a thread this season.

Recruiting News

Just in from Heisenberg, RIT picks up another recruit.

Greg Noyes - D - 6'1" 175lbs -DOB 5/26/1990 - Lucan Ontario

SEASON TEAM GP G A PTS P/G +/- PPG SHG GWG GTG PIM
2009 - 2010 Season Salmon Arm Silverbacks 51 20 28 48 0.9 0 12 1 4 0 48
2008 - 2009 Season Salmon Arm Silverbacks 39 5 11 16 0.4 0 3 0 1 0 26
CAREER TOTALS 90 25 39 64 0.7 0 15 1 5 0 74

Noyes is 4th in points and 1st with 20 goals among Dmen.

This brings the recruit total to 7 so far, with 2 penciled in for 2011.

with the Tigers losing 3 D after the season (Mazur, Ringwald, Clark), and 2 coming in next year (Descoteax, Noyes), perhaps we'll see another defenseman announced in the coming weeks.

Interesting to see the distribution of leagues that the Tigers are drawing from.

BCHL - 4 (D-Noyes, G-Watson, F-Thompson, F-Garbowski(2011))
EJHL - 2 (D-Descoteax, F-Mitchell)
CCHL(OPJHL) - 1 (F-Colavecchia)

Intersting that there is no one from the USHL in this group.

The women actually made it hard on themselves, but they did win.

DeMike was clearly off his game and Bently took advantage. I think he got tired of being bumped on Friday and figured to take things in his own hands. Wonder if Coach will consider Madelora for a start on Friday to let Jared refocus.

Based on the amount of money I believe they raised, I don't expect the enthusiasm to wane. We just need this scheduled against someone like AIC to basically insure a win. ;)

Komey you know even the worst team in the conference can steal a game and nothing is guaranteed.

Agreed.. take our game vs Uconn recently.. could we have beaten them both games based on their record at the time, yes. did we? no.. as the saying goes, anyone can beat anyone any given day.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2009-2010 <<<<< Rockin' The Ritter For Another Year

Yeah fund raising for cancer is good I have no problem with that.

Problem is we seem to lose whenever we have a "special type game" whether its a home coming, thundersticks or a white or pink out. I also blame leaving my jersey in the car :)

DeMichael was totally off his game after he got hit and then and went after the Bentley player. When Bentley has 3 goals on 9 shots, like they did early in that game, I would have liked to see a goalie change

I mean the enthusiasm of the crowd being into wearing pink, etc., not the enthusiasm for fundraising ... although it might be worth considering other charities as well with perhaps different color schemes!;)

Green - The Nature Conservatory
White - Polar Bears
Red - The Red Cross (blood drive in the lobby)
Yellow - Prostate Cancer (umm ... nothing in the lobby)
Black - Footed Ferret
Blue - The Cousteau Society
200 (Hex) - RIT's New Rink
Purple - Not that there's anything wrong with that ...

OK, pink it is ... anything I can do to support breasts! :o

You guys obviously missed my ;) at the end of my post. Of course I know that anyone can beat anyone at any given time. But our odds are better.

How about we support all of those causes by wearing orange? ;)

Maybe we should have thundersticks AND a <insert color here> out. Maybe they would cancel out. OR we could do thundersticks on Home coming where we have an orange out. Get everything all out of the way in one apocolyptic game.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2009-2010 <<<<< Rockin' The Ritter For Another Year

My son's high school team (Greece Thunder) had a game recently where money was raised for a student with Leukemia. The color for the game? Orange. The team couldn't afford special jerseys for the game, but the players were given orange tape for their sticks, socks, and helmets and the rink was decorated with orange banners and balloons, etc.

Hmmm....

The building would probably implode.

So there is a 74% chance we will take 1st. Sacred Heart has a 19% chance and Air Force a 4% chance. I'd say we're looking pretty good.

Believe it or not Sacred Heart has a slightly higher probability of winning the tournament, not sure how that works....

Not as good as AIC who has a massive 89% chance to come in last. :)

Ha, that is funny, AIC has only won games where they shut out the other team.
