For those who follow the college hockey championship belt, UNH stole it from Cornell tonight, which means we get a shot at it tomorrow.

I don't think RIT has ever held the belt...correct me if I am wrong though.

RIT held the belt for about a day when they beat Minnesota a couple years ago.

Good call, I forgot about that. Thanks.

Almost ended up in the hospital with a heart attack in those last couple minutes, but definitely an amazing game. Great job TIGERS, do it again tomorrow!

I don't think I have ever been more nerve racked at any sports event in my life. Plus it took like 10 minutes to play that last 2 minutes

So, where are the good places to watch in Rochester? I have a good excuse for not knowing- I was at the game in Albany yesterday. Somebody mentioned Jeremiahs earlier. Was that a good crowd?

Oh, and another live streak: RIT has now scored a PP goal in their last 15 games.

I was at Jeremiah's yesterday, and it was a strong crowd. It packed the bar area and the rooms next to the bar. I wouldn't be surprised if it peaked above 100 pretty easily. It was funny watching some regulars come in at 3:30 with shocked looks on their faces when they saw the crowd, but they quickly got an education on RIT hockey. I don't know if they're holding anything as formal today (it was alumni association sponsored and they provided free wings, chicken fingers, etc), but given that the owner was an RIT hockey player, I'm sure it'll get some emphasis.

And, I can't add much more to what has already been said, but what a gutsy effort by RIT. This is a really stellar team defensively, and we saw that they could do it against the big boys. Denver thought they could skate through RIT in the first, found out the hard way it wasn't going to happen, and RIT held them at bay in the 2nd and 3rd. Denver certainly had an edge in shots, but I thought RIT kept good chances down for the most part. It's been fun to watch this team gel; let's hope they've got something left in them tonight after that hard fought game! Regardless, that win yesterday was enormous for the program.

Why aren't you coming back tonight then? :)

Good luck to the RIT Tigers. As I said on another thread, you made Denver look oafish last night. Should be a fun, speed-skating event tonight.

Ditto. Driving to Albany yesterday I had that nauseous feeling in my gut that I've only gotten when I'm about to choke in a competition. But that's why they're on the ice and I'm in the stands ... never could perform in the clutch (fortunately I don't choke in lectures!;) )

I was exhausted after the game and pretty much sat there like a lump watching the CU-UNH game. I think RIT matches up better with UNH, but would have been in a close game with CU. It could be a shootout tonight with the goaltender deciding the outcome. I wouldn't be surprised with something like 4-1 or 5-1 if both teams play like yesterday. And it could go either way with that score ... hoping to see RIT in Detroit!!! (Still can't believe I'm typing that with a straight face.)

GO TIGERS!!!

March Madness, hockey style. Drove to Albany and watched that game from the top of section 108 just to the side of the Crew. Wouldn't miss it for anything.(made son miss his first tourney game in buffalo). Got on the road, drove to Buffalo (arrived at midnight). Kyle had a 8am game at Holiday Rinks. 1-1 tie Game over...kids now swimming for a few hours in pool.

We'll get in the car around 1145, drive to albany for tonights game and back to buffalo tonight for a 730am game tomorrow at leisure......

It was just awesome yesterday......awesome!!! Lets follow it up today!!!

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2009-2010 <<<<< Rockin' Part 2 - The Playoffs

Also, best moment of the second game ...

Hearing a good number of the Lynah Faithful chanting R-I-T, R-I-T near the end of their game. (Or did I just imagine that ???)

And to the Corner Crew ... to my old eyes/ears you kicked the Cornell fans' buts yesterday. I was surprised that only a handful of CU fans stood for the game and they were generally quite quiet and reserved, even when leading. Too bad it couldn't be head-to-head tonight.

I think CU had us outnumbered fan wise, but not by a whole lot, especially since they had the late game. I hope everyone back at RIT sees that we really need that new arena ASAP to keep the momentum.

AWESOME game yesterday! Great to have the Crew there. Fantastic to have the band.

Never have I seen so many Cornell fans sitting on their hands. I had hoped they would be cheering on RIT, but it turns out it didn't matter.
