RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

I think Madalora isn't that bad. However, tonight he did not have a good game. He gave up several juicy rebounds. I would not totally give up on him, but at the same time, Roppenen and Watson have played better. I would like to see what that tandem would do in teh Capital District. My concern is that Jan getting the week off would cool down his good play from the past couple weeks.

The team is certainly getting there offensively. The forwards pumped in the goals, unlike the early part last year when it was a lot of defencemen scoring. Getting points out of next weekend would not be a surprise.

WRONG! I am sorry but you could not be more wrong. Give up on this kid. No offense but you are like a teddy bear on this subject.

He is not Frozen Four material. Make him work for it for now. The kid blew the game. He blew the game. And he blew last game.

WILSON, switch up the goalies.

Madalora is not good. He is an ok goalie, no more no less.

I couldn't be more frustrated with him.

On a postive note, what a great crowd and a sea of orange!

Sorry Komey that really wasn't directed at you. It was just blowing steem off.

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

Real tough giving up a goal with 1.3 seconds left. I was pretty depressed last night I admit it :) I don't think we need to hit the panic button on Madalora just yet. DeMichael wasn't really good until his junior year. It might be questionable to start Madalora again but its really Wilson's coaching style that will play a part here. Does he tell him to get back on the horse and start him again (and does Madalora respond) or go back to Roppenen who is having a good start?

Other than that it was awesome to see the support at the game hopefully this will now be standard for these homecoming games at BCA

You do realise this is Madalora's first start of the season correct? Watson started last Saturday.

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

I didn't see the ice event, so I won't comment. But EVERYONE has heard the announcements about banging the glass at the hockey games. Also, I barely ever go to the BCA for events. I don't know how good their security vrs the RIT security.

As for the new arena - RIT pushes THIS game pretty much more than any other home game on the schedule. While we averaged about 1800 per Ritter game, if we do EVEN better this year. Let's sell out games against teams like Bentley where the push isn't as likely to be as strong.

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

Madolora has only had now 4 career starts. I think we still need to determine a #1 goalie. Ropponen deserves another start this coming weekend, and one of Watson/Madolora will start the other game.

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

And I'm glad your not the Coach. If you are going by 1 game's worth of stats, CLEARLY Ropponen is the best goalie we have.

It's going to take a while for the goaltending situation to get more clear where there is a pecking order. I don't believe 1 game is enought to make a decision on a true #1.

I agree. But from my persepective if I was wilson right this second. I would have Watson and Rope as my #1 and #2. And not play Mad.

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

Considering the result of last year's national semifinal, that's probably not the best benchmark to be using..

agree with that. however, I would say that we should go with the goalies that give us the best chance of winning, and right now I think it is either Rope or Watson.

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

This discussion on who is the better goaltender is pointless. Neither of them have played enough for any of us to make a judgment. The coaching staff sees them and I have faith that they can tell who they want playing. An interesting note from John DiTullio during the game last night was that Madolora will be this team's starting goaltender and that "it is his job to lose." I'm not sure where John got that information, but I trust him and if that is the case, I trust our coaches and whichever netminder they back.

There is simply no way to say any of them suck yet. Especially if you weren't around for the days of George Eliopoulos.

Frankly, I don't trust D'Tullio at all. Listening to the TW broadcasts for the last couple of years, it's obvious that the pair of them are clueless about hockey (most obvious example being when Battaglia was wondering "how that isn't a hand pass" when a UM-Lowell player batted a puck to a teammate in his own zone. I don't think he has any inside information, I think he was just talking out of his *** (as is his standard practice)

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

i heard rumor that people took out their keys saturday night. that is one thing i personally would love to see never done again by rit fans.

in other news, is anyone out there going to the games at RPI / Union this coming weekend? i live in the area and it would be nice to have some other away fans to yell with.
