Re: Rep Retirement Thread 133: I still hate you all

This reminds me of when my dad "taught" me how to drive semi when I was 15.

Dad: Take that load of corn into town, you can follow me.
Me: Dad, I have never driven the truck on the road before.
Dad: You'll learn, now hurry up, we have to be there by 5.

That was my dad with swimming. Just before he shoved me in he says, "Don't panic and you'll figure out what you have to do to keep your head above the water pretty quickly."

I did, but I was terrified of water for a few years after that.

I think I'm going to have to go to Toby Keith's on Friday night for the Lost Highway show. Its been a while since I've seen Lost Highway.

Now that's old-school, right there! Wow.

He obviously doesn't know you.
That's what I was thinking?

Well, this has been the longest day ever. Finally sitting down, watching hockey, and eating my dinner. FINALLY! I was so hungry.

I absolutely love coaching hockey. I feel like when I'm on the ice, playing or coaching, that I forget about all the stresses of life, etc and just enjoy the beauty of the game..I am constantly reminded of how much I love hockey..(sounds weird, but I didn't know how else to say it.:p)

I felt the same about softball, when I was playing with our semi-ragtag bunch of players. Great escape from life. Unfortunately, the not-so-good eventually "retired" (family, work, etc schedules) and we had to bring in players who treated our team like a "practice" team. Totally lost my love for a couple years. Only have played one tourney (not with my old team) since then. Still love it, miss it, but my time is over. :(

I'm playing on my first team this spring! Our first game is a week from today..should be a ton of fun..it's a team full of all the guys I've grown up with throughout the years.

It's such a great feeling though, I sometimes can lose myself just watching a game sometime, I'm always trying to analyze, see how I can make myself better, and now I try watching systems, etc to try implementing with my teams..there's just something about the game that makes me feel so good.

Definitely lost myself in games. Not only fun, but if you're any sort of competitive, it's pure emotion running. As soon as you walk off the field, the switch is "off," so to speak. :)

Me..competitive?;) I'm excited, it should be a really fun time to play a lil' ball with all the guys! So you finally get to feel what it's like to have the capability to play when you wanna, and turn on that switch, eh?:p

Ha. Ha. Played from 1999-about 2009. Every Monday, along with some subbing on a higher league team (finishing high in regionals in the early 2000's and doing ok in state). Probably won the league title more than not (I'm not breaking down stats, but only one league in one year we finished with a losing record, and that was our first summer league; played fallball and summer leagues). Definitely a switch. I'm borderline a-hole on the field: loudmouth encourager, never a trash-talker. Off the field: you wanna beer? Good game, man.

That sort of thing.

That sounds really sweet actually. Gotta love that, that's how those leagues should be.

...wait..class from a gopher fan?

;)

Told ya, it's a switch. ;)

On the field, I don't care if you're my best friend. I'm gonna beat you down. Off the field? Hey, it's just sports. :)

I underestimated you sir. That's the way it should be too. You're a good guy, Brent.

I mean with guys like Bakunin, goldy, and grey, it's tough not to stereotype you into their kind of category..;)

Oh, don't get me wrong. Once you are my friend, it's like the mafia. But once you're out, you are out. :P

Sports, though...oh I am an f-tard. If you don't know me, I'm a jack bag.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 133: I still hate you all

Must we make a Mavsy & Brenty thread like the ctf and Mavsy one a couple years back?
