I think the Monster needs to buy an atlas. :p Almington was just giving the shortest way to get through Iowa via freeways. To MLPS via Wisco would be I-80 to I-294 (or I-355/290) to I-90.

Ah. I saw something from him being in the Cities and thought you had made the trip too. :o
I think not good sir! I said Rockford, IL, which is about the last major map dot in Illinois on I-90 til ya hit the land of the cheesyheads. :p.

Still bored at work. :(

I actually like that trip once you get north of Waterloo. The rolling hills make for some nice landscape. If only it wasn't for the Iowans on the road at the same time, it'd be a great route.

Not much traffic on that route either, I have more than once I have set my cruse at 75 just outside of cedar rapids and not touched it until I get on 494. In fact I hope to do that tomorrow (stupid idiot professor and his worthless exam). Worst part is that was actually a class that I wanted to take but he has managed to dumb it down so far that is just isn't very interesting, not much of a challenge in it.

Some good news for Denver fans and college hockey fans in general. Drew Shore announced today he'll return for his junior season in 2011-2012. We'll see between now and next October if the Florida Panthers throw a boatload of $$$$$$ at him. These days it's refreshing news when a top notch player decides to stay in college past his sophomore season.

Interesting tidbit that Sloe Gin might find ironic. A friend of mine is a Republic flight attendant. None other than CEO Bryan Bedford, trying to look cool in a pullover sweater and a pair of designer eyeglasses, bought her crew lunch at DIA and posed for pictures. :p

Someone have a drink for me. Watching the game and wishing I was independently wealthy. My Nurse has more drama than the Globe Theatre, manages to be sick/late or absent at least every week and still manages to screw up enough that I end up checking everything because I can't trust it to be done. Had enough. Maybe I will go work at Talbots.

One thing I admire is consistency. Whether his team wins, ties or loses Dave Hakstol steadfastly appears to have just finished eating ten pounds of schit.:D

The man cannot get his team to win a Frozen Four team.

That said, given the match up for Saturday night, I'm hoping for the Xcel Center to experience a massive power failure before the end of the game, when it's tied so there will be no winner for the 2010-2011 season.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 132: Easter Goodies

I'd be fine with just a limited power failure cutting off the mic to the Michigan band.

We've got to suffer through another 25 "Hail" and "Go Blue"s Saturday.

I may lift the drinking limitation. Just sayin'.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 132: Easter Goodies

A couple of weeks ago my wife asked me which team I thought would win the NCAA tournament. I said, you know, North Dakota and Denver battled each other through the regular season and had a terrific double overtime time game in the WCHA tournament, and yet, I cannot escape the feeling that [regular season finisher] fourth place Minnesota-Duluth is somehow going to skate past everyone and win the event.

If Duluth does win the title on Saturday night it will demonstrate how deep the WCHA is as a conference. Duluth would not have won the regular season title. Duluth would not have won the conference post-season title. Duluth will finish the season having gone 1-1 versus Denver and 1-2 versus North Dakota, and yet, if the Bulldogs win on Saturday night they will be the national champion. Gotta love the depth of the WCHA as a conference.

Shaun Hunwick was terrific this evening. Proverbially speaking, he stood on his head as hockey goalies are sometimes known to do. On the other hand, if the Connolly-Fontaine-Connolly line can author one more productive outing on Saturday the Bulldogs may earn their first NCAA hockey title. As a longtime WCHA fan I'll certainly be pulling for the Bulldogs.

GO WCHA!

:(

I finally thought hak would win us one this year..this one hurts bad..I forgot how much I hated michigan, not because they beat us, but because how much I cannot stand the **** hail to victors played 100 times in the same game. The only good thing to ever come from the michigan band is wT. I'm crushed to lose this senior class this close to a title, but wT, congrats.

I'm all WCHA saturday, UMD deserves a title..quite frankly, I'm still in shock the Sioux lost though.:(

Ewe..sounds like an eventful night..

ASaaG: I'm right there with you, I truly believed if UND didn't win it, UMD would. Crazy how good this conference is..and that's not including UW or UMN in those top 4 as well..WCHA for LIFE!
