Let me warn any of you in The Lodge as stupid as I am: BE VERY CAREFUL BEFORE GOOGLING ANY OF THESE NAMES.

(Yikes!!!)

So I should wait until Mrs. Goldy goes to bed before googling them?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: What are you looking forward to in the offseason?

   These exist?!

I think Brent and I might be siblings of another mother. We have almost identical beer tastes as far as I can tell (loved Guinness since I was a wee sheep drinking it from my grand-dad's glass, LOVE Young's Double Chocolate). Wish I could get my hands on some of these MidWest brews that you all are always complimenting. TCBG really wants to come out for the Final 5 next year, so perhaps then... I'd recommend Sam Adam's Black and Brew (absolutely awesome) for gmann, but it appears to be a winter brew only and only in their Winter Mix, which I would only recommend if you like Sam.

Re F5: DOOOO IIIIIIIT! GLM and his current gf are planning on heading out here; The Real Life Hangover Crew is planning to get a hotel for it; it's going to be a total sh*show. We're talking F4-type SENANICANS. It's the last one, for crying out loud. :)

And then you can fly back with some of these midwestern brews that are so delicious. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: What are you looking forward to in the offseason?

Greetings from Philadelphia. Flying with a sinus infection is not fun. My face hurts and my right ear is totally blocked. This trip should be a BLAST.

So, yeah, there was a screaming baby, but was not too bad. You what annoys me about flying? Getting off the plane. Some woman two rows behind me got up in the aisle right next to me while we were all waiting to de-plane. I believe her son was behind her but I cut him off because they refused to wait for wach row to get out. People suck.

I took the wrong power cord for my laptop so I won't be able to use it for that long. Bummer.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: What are you looking forward to in the offseason?

Back in DC... great weekend other than grandma being dead. Was nice to see a cousin who I haven't seen in a LONG time... and my mother's cousins. Another cousin's husband is a former D-III goalie so it was nice to talk hockey and watch the B's (despite the loss). By coincidence my mother's cousins (from Chicago land) were taking the same flight back to layover at LaGuardia so they took me into Boston and I got to catch up with them (or rather me, I guess I'm the interesting big city boy... but I like the attention and I'm enthusiastic). Was nice to talk to them... we may all try to get together next year in Chicagoland... their mother (grandma's sister) is turning 95... and other than being more tired she's still active and sharp as a tack.... of course, that was nothing compared to the woman who showed up at Grandma's wake who we all figured was dead/alzheimers (a woman who was a former head of the local chapter of Mom's college's alumni assoc)... nope... also sharp as a tack despite the walker.

All kinds of interesting stuff... aside from the deceased... sadly. When I go home it can be tough because in my mind nothing has changed and being down here doesn't count. It's difficult to look back how much of my memories are locked in the year I went to college.

edit: Anyhoo... picked up a tourist item at Logan (one large stuffed lobster... this one is made of cotton)... (opposite of scarlet) deserted plan from LGA to DCA. Home now. Sleep...

bigblue... are you in the city? Drop me a line... i might just drop you a line... trying to figure out when I want to get grocery delivery done.

Brr. Tomorrow is supposed to be 88. The Boston Marathon folks are telling people they can hold their qualifying time til next yr in hopes of decreasing the # of dehydrated, heat exhaustion cases.

Which is royally pi55ing off runners hoping to qualify for 2013, because it limits the number of available spots. These are the moments I look at some of my fellow runners and want to smack them and ask, "what the * is your deal?"
That being said, I have 2 friends out there tomorrow. Hoping they are smart about their race.

Separate logins at tYooper Palace. Problem solved.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: What are you looking forward to in the offseason?

This is the last final 5, right?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: What are you looking forward to in the offseason?

Before the massive western realignment happens, yes.

Suppose I'd have to think about it... though, believing your team can make the NCAAs can make it harder than it would be otherwise.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: What are you looking forward to in the offseason?

Don't think about it. Do it. :)

It's pretty much THE hockey event of the year for us midwesterners, even more than the F4, due to many who don't make the F4 every year. As some easterners who made the F4 last year can attest, we do this right. ;)

Heck, we started tailgating at 8am this year for regionals. It's good times, it's all about the sport; we welcome all fanbases at the Gopher lot, as long as you can handle some heckling. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: What are you looking forward to in the offseason?

as long as you can handle some heckling. :D

Meh, the only heckling most eastern fans would be subjected to at the f5 would be related to questioning the person's knowledge of geography.
