You know how I was whining about my poor work conditions? Well now I'm freezing, because in our QUITE small office, they're doing remodeling, and they've busted through the wall in the back, and have a door open as well all day. C'mon people, this is the UP! Obviously it's going to be cold in April!

A positive, the Drag Show at Tech is tonight. I wonder if Foxton will be there?

How many peeps today heard mookie call the final score?!? :p

I heard you call . . . for a massage service.

Drive over to Ball State. The name alone implies the ladies will be friendly. :D

You used to be able to get tshirts saying "I'd rather BALL U than IU." (The "IU" referencing Indiana University.)

Good Morning from the * hockey bar and grill.

I had hopes until one moment in the 2nd. It was still 2-0, and MN was still getting great chances. Somebody had a good look and it just missed, and on the replay they showed the shooter (#19? I can't remember) turn around with a look on his face like, "**** WE CANT FREAKING SCORE!!!" And you could tell they didn't think they could do it.

It's much easier to score if you dont consistently shoot the puck straight into the goalies pads. Try lifting the puck...

Oh man, that one in the 1st, when Matson had an open net, and the puck went off the heel of his stick. Like we were saying last night, he'll see that in his sleep for a few years.

Probably only leswp1 cares, and I am sure that she knows it already, but the 1940 US census was released to the public on April 1 and is currently available online. I found my father and grandparents. This was the first census since they arrived. My mother and her family didn't arrive until later that year. (It will be another 10 years until I find her on census records, and then I will also be included. )

I care. My fathers side of the family is a complete mystery to me past my parents parents. Will the census already be in digital format on sites like Ancestry.com?

I've found my mother's father's family (Fitchburg... knew the address)... found my father's mother's family (Clinton... dad was off by a street).. still need to find my mother's mother's family (Claremont, NH) and my father's father's family (Clinton... unsure where they lived... will take awhile... on the other hand, my grandfather was the oldest of 10).

Digital images. It is currently available for free on Ancestry.com. I think that they are using it to entice people to join.

There is currently no name index. You have to know the address, but I was able to find my father and his family in Manhattan quite easily knowing the exact street address..

Yeah it would be impossible for me to find the streets. I wish the neighborhoods were more clearly defined in the image names. Looking through 200 images with scribbly handwriting wouldn't be any fun.

The maps of the enumeration districts can help... found my grandfather Joyce (I think). Will have to check with dad.

I know. But hey, we weren't even supposed to BE here! /Dante

Oh, and we were?

You better drink them fast, and you better drink them all. When it comes to the * hockey table, this is last call. We're closing the * hockey table for the season, regardless of tomorrow night's outcome. Everyone can join me at the HHT.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: Get the thread open so I can sit at the Happy Hockey Table

You know Scarlet was cheering for the Yankees, using her OppositeGirl powers for a Rays walkoff win. Oh well, 161-1 isn't a bad season, even by Yankees standards ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: Get the thread open so I can sit at the Happy Hockey Table

Wasn't cheering for either team. When the Yanks took the lead 6-4 I thought "well it doesn't matter if the Rays lose today because they won Game 162 last season." Seriously, the amount of self congratulatory crap over that win was quite lame. Then in the 9th, this obnoxious* Yankees fan says to no one "Why are they booing Mariano Rivera? The guy is a guaranteed first round hall of famer." And no one was booing him. So when this guaranteed hall of famer gave up a single and a triple to tie and then wussed out to intentionally walked two more, I very much enjoyed Pena's walk off hit to win.

*I'm well aware of obnoxious Red Sox fans. Trust me. Every fan base has their gems and I saw them on both teams today.

So the Kennedy Space Center is pretty cool. Especially the Saturn V building and display.
